"Doctor!" Ritsuka manages to catch up with the marathon that has been going on for nearly one and a half minute.

"Whoa, what are you doing?! Gate 2's the other way!"

"I know! I wanna run away! But I'm one of the candidates! I don't want to think that there's nothing I can do!"

Romani was shocked by the rookie. His purpose was honorable, but questionable.

Alas, there was no time to argue for reasons on this selfless risk. If he is willing to help, so be it.

"...Ugh, look, I appreciate that! But make it back before the doors close! Got it?!"

"Yes!"

It did not took long until they've reached the Command Room. Opening the door, nothing but the ambiguous amount of rubble and fire can be seen from here.

Debris are everywhere. Signs of human life is very impossible to spot.

"...No survivors. Only Chaldeas is safe." Romani uttered with a hint of frustration. "This was where the explosion originated. This was no accident, it was sabotaged!"

"How?" asked Ritsuka

"I think there's a-"

[SWITCH TO SECONDARY BACK-UP GENERATOR, ERROR. MANUAL SWITCHING REQUIRED.]

[CONTAINMENT WALL WILL CLOSE IN 1 MINUTE AND 25 SECONDS.]

"Oh you gotta be kidding me!" Romani grimaced to the sudden announcements. "I'm heading down to the underground power station. We can't let Chaldea's light go out!

Run back to where we came from, Fujimaru. You can still make it!"

"B-But-"

"Listen, don't stop anywhere on the way! Go outside, and wait for help!" Romani leaves with haste.

Still, the boy lingers within this catastrophe. His friend must be somewhere around here; but with fires blinding him and blockades obscuring him, it would be wise to follow the orders right now.

Alas, the announcement was heeded no mind. Ritsuka and Fou look around for any signs of life.

"MASH!!! MASH, WHERE ARE YOU?!?!" The boy shouts out loud as he desperately tries to dig out every pile of rubble he can carry.

This search was an inane act for others: to give out his life on a mere individual. Surely, it would be reasonable if it was for the Director... or Romani.

But for an average girl, a poor man's ticket to the hands of fate.

"Fou, Fou!" Fou suddenly called, pointing its small blunt nose towards a direction.
