"Momma told me not to waste my life. She said 'spread your wings my little butterfly. Don't let what they say, keep you up at night, and if they give you shit, then they can walk on by.'"

**************************

It had been a couple days since Dad had caused problems at the house, and we had finally gotten over the initial shock of it all. I had stayed away from the clubhouse since Dad had showed up, seeing as I knew Gemma was going to jump down my throat over both Jax and I being hurt. She probably already grilled Jax over it, so I knew for a fact I did not want to be next.

As I was changing Abel, I heard the front door open. Looking up towards the doorway of the nursery, I seen Jax standing there. I smiled at him, finishing changing Abel's diaper.

"I thought you were busy at the clubhouse." I commented, and he nodded.

"Yeah, but there was an accident. You need to pack a bag for you and Abel." Jax said, and I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion.

"Why? What happened?" I asked, and he sighed.

"Retaliation. Chibs is in the hospital, critical condition." He replied, and I frowned.

"Christ, Jax. Is he going to be alright?" I asked, making Jax nod.

"Yeah, we won't let anything happen to him." He answered, and I nodded.

I pulled out the diaper bag and placed some outfits, diapers, and such inside, before making sure Abel was dressed.

"I'll pack your bag. Shouldn't need much, I think you have clothes at the clubhouse already." Jax said, and I nodded.

As he was packing my bag, I packed a purse full of formula and bottles for Abel. By the time I had everything packed, Jax was coming out of our room with a bag.

"C'mon, let's go." He said, grabbing Abel's bags as well.

I quickly placed Abel in his carseat, before bringing him out to the car. Once he was secure, I popped the trunk of my car and let Jax put our bags in the trunk.

"I'll be riding behind you." Jax said, placing a kiss on my lips.

I nodded, before climbing into my car and starting it up. I drove down to the clubhouse, where a few sons were guarding above the gate. They opened the gate, allowing us to enter the lot. Once we were inside, I watched them close the gate back. Stepping out of the car, my eyes almost popped out when I seen Tara's car in the lot. As soon as Jax walked over to me, I crossed my arms and glared at him.

"What the hell?" I asked, making him furrow his eyebrows.

"What?" He asked, and I glared at him.

"Don't play stupid, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Why is Tara here, Jax?" I asked, and he sighed.

"I know she's in danger just being around here, too. I can't chance her getting hurt because of us." He said, and I groaned.

"Then put a prospect on her, Jax. It looks bad having both of us here. Not to mention, Gemma probably isn't happy about this either." I replied, as he shook his head.

"She's not, which is really irritating. Please, don't cause trouble." He commented, and I pursed my lips.

"Excuse me? Don't cause trouble? Maybe you shouldn't invite the homewrecker here to stay in close contact with you." I retorted, making him sigh.

"Lakota, I'm really trying here. I just want to keep her safe." He said, and I glared at him once more.

"She would be safe if you left her the hell alone. Seems to me you still have feelings for her, otherwise you wouldn't be bringing her here. You know for a fact that whoever wants to hurt you, they'll only go after whoever you're attached too most. Apparently I don't even know who that is anymore." I stated, turning away from him to grab Abel.

"Lakota, I'm sorry. Please, I really didn't want to piss you off. I love you." He replied, and I frowned.

"If you loved me, you wouldn't have her around me, ever." I retorted, closing the back door of my car.

"Lakota-" He began, causing me to place Abel's carseat down and turn to him.

"What, Jax? You want me to believe that you don't still love Tara, when apparently you brought her here before you even came to get me and your son." I spat, making him look at the gorund.

"She was at the hospital with us. She's Chibs' doctor." He said, and I nodded.

"Exactly, she was where she was safe already. You did this as an extra measure, huh? Maybe an extra measure of pissing me off." I replied, and he frowned.

"Please, Lakota." He pleaded, making me angry.

Closing my eyes for a moment, I took a deep breath to think. Opening my eyes, I grabbed Jax's kutte, and pulled him close to me. His eyes went wide, realizing how strong I really was. I stood on my tip toes, kissing him quickly, before pushing him away from me, making him hit my car. He looked at me wide eyed, as I crossed my arms.

"If she gets in my way, I will break her in half. So, if you love me, you'll get rid of her. If you don't get rid of her, well, I'll know exactly how you feel about both of us. Choose wisely, you never know what could happen. I will not tolerate trashy whores around me or Abel." I stated, and he nodded.

"I-I-" He stuttered, not knowing what to say without pissing me off once more.

Smirking, I stepped closer to him, chest to chest, as I inched closer to his face with mine.

"I'm sorry, did I scare you?" I asked, before grabbing his kutte once more,"Good. Then you know what'll happen if she tries to get what's mine." I said, before kissing his jaw, all the way to his lips.

When I pulled away, I could see his eyes were glazed over. Smirking to myself, I picked Abel's carrier back up and began to walk away. I heard Jax following behind me, as I walked into the clubhouse. He quickly took Abel from me, handing him over to Gemma, before throwing me over his shoulder. I let out a surprised yelp, as he carried me passed everyone. I smirked when I seen Tara watching us with jealous eyes. He threw me down on our bed, locking the door quickly, before stripping off his kutte.

"You're so damn hot. That shit outside, that was so fucking hot. I'll get rid of Tara, as long as you keep that up." He said, a grin on his face.

I knew I had him right where I wanted him. I do love him, and no woman was going to make me lose him...
