jisoo walks out of one of the mirrors in the main plaza. nobody actually strolls around or plays in this plaza, since this plaza is full of their portals: mirrors.jisoo walks out of the plaza to go to the houses. no, jisoo isn't going to go to his old house, but to his friend's house. he needs something from him for his mission.
once he arrives in his destination, he knocks on the wooden door. the door opens almost immediately, spewing out a man who had small eyes to almost none at all. "oi, soo!"
"hosh!" jisoo and hoshi performs their secret handshake. "how's it been? no mission yet?"
"i wouldn't be lounging around if i had a mission already, dumbass," hoshi and jisoo shared a moment of hearty laughing, before hoshi stepped aside for jisoo to enter. "so, what did you need to make you think of me?"
"hey, i do NOT think of you only when i need something." jisoo protested, sitting on hoshi's comfy couch. his place is not spotless, but it's still clean and fragrant. "big bully."
"you're the big bully here!" hoshi quipped, sitting on the sofa across jisoo. "so, really, why are you visiting? you got your mission already, right?"
"you make rings and necklaces out of the diamonds from the city of carat, right? i.. need one, for my human." jisoo pursed his lips, thinking of a good sentence, but was not able to. "it's just.. uh, i want to give it to him but indirectly, so it comes off that his love interest gave it but of course i instructed it—ah, i mean, instructed it to yo—i mean him, and—"
"FINE. pick one." hoshi walks to a room where he keeps his creations. it was brimming with sparkly diamonds in rings, bracelets and necklaces. it almost seemed like a jewelry store. "what do you want? necklace, ring?"
"i think he'd like to go for simple and small things. he seems to be a minimalist."
and so, jisoo picked among the prettiest trinkets for two hours or so. hoshi was tired, trying to explain the qualities of each jewelry to jisoo(hoshi just needed to lounge around, since matchmakers don't sleep or eat) who was a picky guy. jisoo did not even know jeonghan very well to pick the right one for him.
but anyway, seungcheol would be 'giving' it to jeonghan, not jisoo. if anything, seungcheol is the one to be blamed. but what if jeonghan likes what jisoo picked? jisoo wants credit then.
but what is the point? jeonghan would know that jisoo was involved in this. would it still be romantic to you, if you know that someone else instructed your crush to do this for you? and not, in any way, from his own will?
jisoo's objective was to make seungcheol do this and he will stop until seungcheol realizes that he's feeling a little different towards jeonghan because of all the interactions and things that they do, on his own.
but what about jeonghan? won't he get over seungcheol due to the knowledge of jisoo doing all this for him, and not actually seungcheol? will jisoo fail this mission?
"indecisive." hoshi remarks, looking at the necklace that jisoo was holding. it was originally just a ring with small diamonds speckled all over it, but jisoo decided to add a chain to make it a necklace. "but, good choice. the ring looks pretty and the chain won't rust. are you leaving now?"
"yeah. thank you hoshi! let's meet up again soon." jisoo says, stepping out of hoshi's residence.
jisoo goes to the main plaza and picks a mirror. he enters quickly and exits out of the same mirror he used to enter the city of carat earlier. jisoo was thankful when he saw jeonghan still asleep on the bed. immediately but quietly, he exits the room and goes out to go to seungcheol's room. jisoo hopes that he's still asleep as well.
but seungcheol was already outside, speaking with their professor. what horrified jisoo was that seungcheol was wearing and holding. jeonghan's crush was fully dressed, carrying a backpack on his back and a luggage on hand.
"again, i'm really sorry prof, it's an emergency. my dad's sick. sorry for the trouble." seungcheol bowed at their middle-aged professor, who just nodded and sighed. he was still in his pyjamas.
"it's alright, as long as it's an emergency. take care, choi." the professor pats seungcheol's shoulder, before seungcheol strided to the elevator in a rush. the professor goes back to his own hotel room, and jisoo was left all alone in the hallway.
"well, what the frick am i supposed to do now?" jisoo fishes out the necklace from his pocket, eyeing the beautiful piece of jewelry. "i can't just discard this, can i?"
whatever. it's okay if jisoo just explains what happened and give this to jeonghan, right? there's no harm in that.
jisoo kept chanting in his head, it's nothing to be nervous about, while he headed to jeonghan's room. he feels like a high school kid about to go to his first date with a boquet of flowers on hand, awkwardly standing on the porch of his date.
jisoo entered the room without knocking, since jisoo figured that jeonghan would still be asleep. the matchmaker was right; jeonghan was still in the same position on the bed—just like how he looked like when jisoo left him to sneak on seungcheol.
softly, jisoo poked jeonghan's cheeks, waking him in the gentlest way possible. jisoo realized that he was too close, so he leaned back while jeonghan was shuffling awake.
"oh, hello. i have something to say. i am convinced that i am not in a dream." jeonghan states, first thing after sitting up. jisoo stepped back and sat on a chair nearest to him, plastering a confused smile on his face.
"why's that?"
jeonghan rubbed his eyes as he continued. "i dreamt about me running around a volcano which was erupting, while a twenty foot tall headless chicken was chasing me around. if i have to pick which is reality, i'd definitely pick this one." jeonghan stretches out his arms. "why did you wake me? do you have a surprise of some sort? what's 'seungcheol' gonna do now?"
"nope, seungcheol left today to go back to korea. an emergency, he said. i can't do anything, but i had already prepared a surprise, so," jisoo took jeonghan's hand and placed the necklace(handpicked by the one and only jisoo) on his palm. "here you go. seungcheol was supposed to give this to you."
"well, it's nice if seungcheol gave me a necklace, though i know it's really you." jeonghan inspected the necklace and the ring that served as a charm. "i'm still delighted that i got a mysterious gift from a matchmaker, though."
"and what else?" jisoo raised an eyebrow.
"thank you." jeonghan smiled. "i really really like this."
