a pleasant afternoon spent alone in jisoo's backyard. the silence was far from deafening, the breeze was more than comforting. the sky is as perfect as it could ever be, and the forget-me-nots are still blooming in purple. it was saddening for jisoo to leave this house and backyard after his reward is issued.

jisoo wishes jeonghan was here though. the beautiful man makes everything better; too bad he's busy with schoolworks. jisoo wonders if all the caffeine he intakes is the reason why jeonghan pulls all nighters all the time.

"matchmakers forget most of their memories as matchmakers when they turn human." jisoo trails off, holding a hand up to the sky as if he was reaching for the stars. jisoo's frown deepens as he continued. "will i forget jeonghan?"

jisoo remembers that he hadn't taken jeonghan here for a date, recently. he should've. they'd both miss this place.

"ah, right. hoshi's going to be human today..." jisoo tells himself as he pushes himself upwards, standing up in one go and heading inside his house. "i should go to his house."

"the next diamond divinity is going to live here after i leave. i think his name started with a 'ji'. are you here to collect as much diamonds as you can?" hoshi asked, playing with a diamond. jisoo laughs.

"i came to ask something. how did you... fix me and jeonghan?"

"i didn't fix you two together." hoshi smiles at jisoo, tossing him a bracelet for whatever reason. as jisoo stumbled to get the bracelet before it fell to the floor, hoshi continues to speak. "i made unfortunate events and circumstances so you two naturally spend time together."

suddenly, memories come surging into jisoo's mind. the taxi driver dropping jeonghan off the wrong stop, seungkwan spending time with seokmin and 'soonyoung', the storm while they were in scotland, the kdrama recommendation to jeonghan, seungcheol's father—!

"hey, did you do something to seungcheol's father?!" jisoo inquired, furrowing his eyebrows and frowning. he didn't take his friend for a murderer.

"no, i just made the nurse call him. seungcheol's father had been in the hospital for a year and a half now. so you two get to spend time together naturally." hoshi explained, combing his black locks through his fingers. "better than what you tried to do with jeonghan and seungcheol."

jisoo snarls, causing hoshi to laugh. "hey! i had no idea, it was my first time! plus, why would the headmaster give me as a mission for another matchmaker?"

"that's because...." hoshi trails off, tossing another bracelet at jisoo. the latter was getting annoyed at the bracelet tossing. "hong jisoo and yoon jeonghan are soulmates chosen by the universe. all other circumstances existed, wether fortunate or unfortunate, solely for the moment when hong jisoo and yoon jeonghan realize that they are soulmates."

soulmates? jisoo asks himself. what about seungcheol? was he supposed to be essentially bad at matchmaking just for seungcheol and jeonghan not to end up together? was there a matchmaker for chan and seungcheol?

there are lots of questions running in jisoo's mind, and he badly wants answers for them. the unsolved mystery will get resolved in time. jisoo trusts time. time heals and solves everything.

"i'm going to go first, jisoo. i'll see you soon."

"wait! will i remember jeonghan if i become human?"

hoshi stops walking, before answering. "who knows?"
