maybe it was a bad day for jeonghan's classmates, but not to him. staying in his hotel bed for hours is heaven. he can order food on his room's doorstep(if he doesn't have money, well, jisoo can whisper into the delivery guy's ears and trick him) and connect his laptop to the tv to watch sappy movies while raindrops could be heard in the background.

yes. raindrops. their field trip schedule for today was cancelled, due to a bad storm. they couldn't go home either, the plane they'd be riding would be caught up in the storm and they'd all be dead except jisoo.

"jisoo, when—"

"no. i'm not a criminal."

"i'm not going to ask you to brainwash the delivery guy!" jeonghan retorted, annoyed. "i mean, when it's 9:00 pm, remind me because i need my beauty sleep."

jisoo crossed his arms. "whatever."

the two stayed in silence after. the tv, which played a kdrama that jeonghan liked, was the only noise that could be heard apart from the heavy rain outside. occasionally, jeonghan would giggle because of the show he's currently watching, but jisoo never reacted to it.

boring. admittedly, jisoo likes being idle and cozy, but he oddly wants to do something fun today. maybe play tricks on jeonghan's classmates? no. oh!

"hey! hey!" jisoo stood up from the chair he previously sat on, lunging himself towards jeonghan's bed. jeonghan abruptly clicks 'pause' to stop his show. this matchmaker is rude. "i have an idea! is seungcheol online?"

"i don't know!" jeonghan replied, grabbing his phone. he spoke incoherently after that, which jisoo frowned at. he heard the words 'annoying' and 'nuisance'. "alright, fine, he's online."

"okay, now, text him. tell him that you know about his father's condition and a get well soon after."

"that is a bad idea. the professor said 'seungcheol went home because of an emergency', so he'd feel weird if i know what his departure is exactly about." jeonghan narrows his eyes, unpausing the kdrama. jisoo's mouth was agape, realizing the plot hole in his plan.

"aw." jisoo slumped, punching the matress lightly in annoyance. jeonghan chuckled, noticing jisoo's actions. "i thought we'd get you two in a conversation again after that dinner date."

"i get it, you want to be human again." jeonghan disparages the kdrama, turning his gaze from the screen to jisoo. he pats the matchmaker's back.

"not really, i was just bored."

jeonghan ignores what jisoo said. "to me, though, you're pretty much a human." he reassured, as if jisoo was a three-headed monster. when jisoo did not reply, jeonghan adds, "don't worry."

"i'm not worrying about that. i have time."

"you don't," jeonghan sing-songed, chuckling bitterly. the memory of seungcheol saying 'don't tell anyone, but it's a junior' was still vivid in jeonghan's mind. he thinks about it every night. yikes. "once seungcheol gets the courage to ask his crush out, they'd be going out together."

jisoo raises an eyebrow, persistent. "but does his crush like him back?"

"nobody doesn't like seungcheol!" jeonghan whines, tossing himself on the bed. he groaned, episode 13 on tv be damned. "we have to get back to korea too! i have to stop him!"

jisoo doesn't reply quickly. his gaze stayed on the tv, unfocused on the kdrama but instead on jeonghan's situation. "you know, i shouldn't have introduced myself to you. i should've been those mysterious matchmakers that work in the dark, because if a matchmaker introduces himself and claims to help the human—"

"it feels like you cheated, and it feels like your love interest doesn't really like you. and, i turn out to be a secret hypocrite while dating seungcheol." jeonghan finishes, for jisoo. the matchmaker nods, realizing his fault. "but it's okay. not everything's about me. you can still try and make us end up together."

jisoo furrowed his eyebrows. "what, so i become human again? you're going to bear the guilt just so i could walk around as a human in this world again? i'd rather go to the afterlife and not give you any kind of burden."

"no," jeonghan sighed, sitting up. he grabs both of jisoo's shoulders, while staring straight into the matchmaker's eyes. jisoo was startled. "i'll do everything myself now. if i need you, please come to my aid. so that way, you become human, i get to be with him without any guilt."

"deal," jisoo replied almost immediately, a smile growing on his face after he heard jeonghan's plan. he offers his hand for jeonghan to shake. once the latter took jisoo's hand, the matchmaker's smile grew wider. "nice! it's settled!"

jeonghan nods, letting go of jisoo's hand. "but, hey, i have a question. where did you get the ring? and the necklace chain, too." jeonghan instinctively reached for the said ring, fumbling around with it.

"in the land of the matchmakers, the lost city of carat, there are diamonds everywhere. i know someone who puts those diamonds in trinkets, jewelry, you know what i mean." jisoo stood up, walking around. "also, you can enter my world through mirrors if you have that with you."

jeonghan perked up. finally, some excitement! "can we enter now?! i wan to see what your world is like! i want to get diamonds too!" the human stood up on his bed, pumping his fist in the air out of excitement.

jisoo laughed, shaking his head. "i admire your enthusiasm, but not today. plus, when you stay there for 48 hours, you become a matchmaker as well."

"but i won't be staying there for 48 hou—"

"it's 9 pm," jisoo says, grabbing the tv remote before pressing the off switch. jeonghan whined, annoyingly stomping to jisoo. "beauty sleep, remember?"

jeonghan can cross beauty sleep out of the list. a day's worth of eyebags would be fine in exchange for a while in jisoo's world! right? the storm would still be dragging on until tomorrow and jeonghan won't be facing anyone else than jisoo. so what if jisoo sees jeonghan with eyebags?

but nonetheless, jeonghan laid on his bed, saying, "goodnight." jisoo was satisfied.

"alright. i'll be going back to my city," jisoo teased, making jeonghan growl at him. it was scary how his growl was so similar to a dog's. "sweet dreams. if i see you in there, i'll never let you get out so you become a matchmaker yourself."

"fine." and with that, jisoo left.

jeonghan raised up, stepping out of the comfortable covers. he did have the power to go to the land of the matchmakers, since he has a diamond from the city plus he can hide pretty well—but he doesn't want to wreck jisoo's trust.

so, instead, jeonghan grabbed his umbrella and wallet, setting foot out of the hotel to find good food. don't tell his professor.
