oNE guy who can destroy Japan

Atsushi raced down the streets of Yokohoma. He did NOT want to be late for this meeting at the detective agency. Kunikida had already blown off steam quite a few times when members were late, and this meeting was supposed to discuss an important matter.

Atsushi arrived at the headquarters and saw Kyouka going in. He followed and entered the room, fortunately, right on time. Kunikida glared at them as they took their seats. He then closed his eyes, let out a sigh and yelled, "WHERE THE HELL IS DAZAI!?"

As usual, Dazai was skipping out on the meeting. Noone knew where he'd be so none of the members bothered to go call him.

"Well, if that guy is not gonna attend, it's his problem."

"Ah Kunikida-kun" Ranpo whistled. "Now what's this urgent meeting for anyways?"

"Yes, well, it's about the Satou case."

"What? I thought we closed that case a month ago," Atsushi exclaimed.

"Yea, well apparently they continued with some underground work after we shut down Satou Enterprises. And have been rebuilding and supplying their weapons. Only this time, these weapons are much different and supposed to be more dangerous too."

"Define 'more dangerous'," Yosano demanded.

"Well, their guns for example," Kunikida pulled out a large gun from under the table and pointed it at the window behind. Everyone covered their ears as Kunikida pulled the trigger. But instead of a gunshot full of noise and window shards, fog blew out from the gun hole and the window instantly started melting once the fog had reached.

"Wait, what just happened?!" All the members at the meeting stared at the window in disbelief.

"This," Kunikida set the gun down on the table, "was taken from one of the former executives of Satou Enterprises. He tried to attack me with this once I found out who he was."

"You're not hurt?" Kyouka was still staring at the gun.

"Fortunately no. But cutting to the chase, doesn't this remind you all of someone?"

Silence filled the room as everyone dwelled in their own thoughts of what could it be related to.

"Carlo Archie," Atsushi looked up at Kunikida. "He is an ability who uses fog to melt anything it touches."

"Exactly," Kunikida confirmed. 

"So, Carlo-san, is helping create these weapons."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Kunikida threw a file onto the table. "Carlo Archie was found dead in his apartment two days ago. And the state of his body was as if he'd been like that for about two months."

"So, that's what you want us to investigate about Kunikida-san?" Atsushi asked.

"Yes... but you won't be doing it alone," Kunikida glared at the others. "The port mafia will also be joining us."

"What?!" The detective agency got into an uproar. "Why are we gonna work with them?"

Kunikida answered, "members of the port mafia have also been attacked by unusual weapons by, coincidently, former employees of Satou Enterprises. So the Director is gonna be sending two port mafia members to investigate it with you. And... they have someone who might be able to help us with this."

The others stared at Kunikida as he was deciding who the two DA members were going to be. 

"I was planning to send Dazai on this, but due to his absence, ATSUSHI! You shall take on this case."

"Uhh- Yes- Okay! Kunikida-san!" Atsushi stood up from his chair.

"And, if you wouldn't mind, Kyouka-san, sending you would worry us less as you know the Port Mafia members better."

"I don't mind," Kyouka said silently as she stood up next to Atsushi.

"Umm, Kunikida-kun, who are the Port Mafia members joining this case?" Kenji asked.

"Ichiyo Higuchi and..... Nakahara Chuuya."

Kyouka tensed up at the mention of his name. "What's wrong Kyouka-san?" Atsushi asked.

"Nakahara Chuuya-san.... he's one of the executives of the Port Mafia."

"Ahh yes yes," Ranpo interrupted. "Mr Fancy hat huh? Kyouka-san is close to him?"

"He is one of the most feared men in the Port Mafia, especially for having a very dangerous ability. They say he is one who can destroy Japan if he wanted to."

"Kyouka... are you afraid of him?" Atsushi asked timidly.

"I used to look up to him in the Port Mafia, but.... I would be lying if I said that I wasn't afraid, though, it's scarier to think what he can do to Atsushi."

Atsushi let out a nervous laugh and patted Kyouka's head. "Dazai-san is his friend right? Is that why you wanted to send Dazai?"

"Partly," Kunikida replied. "Well, we have no time to spare, Atsushi-kun, Kyouka-san, you two can head out to the written destination on this paper. Higuchi-san and Chuuya-san will be there."

Kunikida handed them the paper and Atsushi and Kyouka left the Detective Agency. Meanwhile, Dazai was still no where to be found.
