Merlin and the Doctor

Part 1-A new arrival

Merlin was tired. He had been hunting with Arthur for hours now, and he was desperately hoping that at least a squirrel would emerge from the endless trees so that he and Arthur could go home.

He was just about to try and persuade Arthur to turn back, when he heard something. It was a very peculiar noise, and wind was blowing to his left where the noise was. He looked up to Arthur. He too had noticed the noise and signalled to Merlin to move forward slowly and quietly. This could be anything. Merlin braced himself and went through some simple defence spells. If this was a creature of magic, it wouldn't stand a chance against his magic.

The Doctor was very exited. Amy could tell.

"He has that look on his face again" Amy Pond groaned to her husband

"Which look?" Her husband Rory was dreading the answer.

"The one he gets just before he takes us to somewhere amazing but always ends up getting into serious trouble and nealy dying"

"I'm sure he has a good reason" Rory assured her " Last time he had this look he took us to the planet with those people with one hundred hands."

"Yes, and look where that got us. We'll never be able to go back there now. He called them weird. We were only there 10 minutes."

" Fair point."

The doctor ran up. He was grinning from ear to ear, like a schoolboy who had been given a big bag of sweets. Amy sighed noisily.

"You'll never guess where we are this time!" The Doctor challenged.

"We're not in Rome again. We've gone there five times already. And missed four of those times" Amy complained.

"Did you or did you not enjoy Spain?"

"Yes, but-"

"Well then. You still haven't guessed where we are"

Amy and Rory both fell silent

"Welcome" The doctor started, slowly opening the TARDIS door "To Camelot"

"Wait" Rory Hesitated. "Camelot's just a legend. It doesn't exist. Does it?"

"Have you learned nothing?" The Doctor closed the TARDIS doors"The one thing that I always tell you is not to doubt me. The one thing that you always do is doubt me."

"To be fair, we do usually end up nearly dying" Rory started

"Live a little. Hakuna Matata, as they say."

"Shut up boys. I want to see The knights of the round table. and Merlin obviously." Amy pushed them aside and walked out of the TARDIS, followed by The Doctor and Rory.

Merlin had no idea what the box was. It was long and quite narrow, maybe just about big enough to fit himself and one other inside. And it was the most beautiful shade of blue. The colour reminded Merlin of something, but he couldn't remember what.

Suddenly, the box door opened. Merlin could hear voices for a few seconds, and then it closed again.

'Well' he thought. "At least whatever's inside it is human'

After waiting silently outside the box for about a minute, his eyes flickering between the box and Arthur, who was also silent, the box door opened again and the most beautiful woman Merlin had ever seen stepped out of the box, followed by two strangely dressed men.

Merlin looked across to Arthur. As he had already guessed, his sword was out and pointed at the new arrivals.

"Declare yourself" He said threateningly

"Hello" The taller of the two men stepped forward. he was wearing very strange clothes, but this didn't really bother Merlin. he was used to seeing all of the courtiers In their clothes trying to look as fashionable as possible, and usually ending up looking very strange indeed.

"I am The Doctor."

"You are a physician?" Arthur questioned. times were desperate and he desperately needed anyone who could help him cure his wife, Guinevere, who was currently suffering from the worst of ilnesses. Merlin and Gaius had both tried their best to cure her, but even Merlins magic couldn't save her.

"Not exactly" The Doctor replied slowly. "Why? who did you say that you were again?"

"We didn't" Arthur jumped in before Merlin could say anything. "I am Arthur Pendragon, king of Camelot."

The Doctor gave his friends a smug 'I told you so' look
