The road ahead is rough
The path is steep and narrow
Compounded with the mourning
A pervading sense of sorrow.

I walk this road
It must be done
Now taking on
What you've begun.

You'd always got me covered
You really  were my rock
It's my turn now rest easy
This time around I've got your back.

One step and then another
I bravely soldier on
Your shoes may be too big to fill
A promise kept I carry on.
