Author's Chapter Notes: Sorry this one'sa little short. It'll get better I promise!

I dragged my feet along the sidewalk as I walked to school,my backpack swinging over oneshoulder. Okay... so what wasI going to do today while facing Harry. I had to talk to him; wehad to do our English project together. So... I was thinking of acting like it didn'thappen. Would that work? I guess I'd have to find out. If Harry wanted to talk about it,I had to deal with it. If he didn't want to talk to me in general... that I couldn't deal with. Then I'd have to talk to him about it. The onlyvthing I could do was pretend it didn'thappen. I walked into the entrance of the school, hoping since I was early no one would be around yet. For once in my life, I was lucky enough to have no one around. I loved hanging out with myfriends, but I am not a morning person. I always need time to awaken before I talk to people. I started cleaning out my backpack, getting mybooks together for today. With in minutes, I heard the squeak of a locker nextto me. I looked up and saw Harry smiling down at me.

"HeyHaz." I grinned at him, looking back into mylocker. "Long time no see."

"More like long time no talk." He grinned back, grabbing my French book out of my locker and gently putting it in my backpack.

"Touché." I raised an eyebrow athim.

I guess this'pretending it didn't happen' thing was gonna work; unless he ruined it and started to talk about it halfway through the day... which was always a possibility. The bell rang loudly throughout the halls.

"First class. Geo right?" he asked.

"Yep. Let's go. You still need to finish that project which I can still help you-" I started.

"No! I can do it!" Harry interrupted me, pressing a finger to my lips.

I smirked as his finger pressed against my lips. Myheart jumped into my throat as he touched my lips. I lightly brought my hand up to his and dragged his finger down off my lips, making sure to make the feeling linger. He didn't pull back hishand from mine like I thought he would. I let his hand slip from mine before turning backtowards mylocker.

"So! Off to Geo then curly." I smiled while shutting my locker.

Harry picked up my bag for me and handed it to me as we set off to Geography together. For the rest of the day, Harry nor I spoke a word about the movie. Almost like that point of our lives had just blanked out of existence, even though we both knew it had happened. Other than this morning near the lockers,Harry had kept a fair amount of distance from me. We didn't even brush shoulders for the rest of the day. Even at lunch we sat across from each other instead of next to each other. I wasn't used to this restriction, but if it made Harry more comfortable than I guess I would have to live with it. I sat next to Emily instead who had a ball talking about her new boyfriend. I smiled through the wholelunch, only half listening to Emily's story about their first kiss and how he loved comics. Things went great until Emily ruined it... again.

"So how was your weekend Hayley?" Emily said loud enough for Harry to hear.

My posture went rigid and so did his. I glared at Emily who smirked at me. I glanced over at Harry who wasn't looking our way, but didn't try to hide that he was listening.

"Good." I murmured. "I saw Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Itvwas great."

"Yeah? Who'd you go with?" Emilyasked.

I got up with my lunch tray while shooting her my famous 'I will kill you later' look. I took my tray to the garbage can and scraped my left over food into the garbage before turning on my heel to leave the lunch hall. I didn't know what else to do! Luckily the rest of the school day went by without any discussion about the weekend. Harry seemed to be a little on edge the rest of the day, so I finally decided to ask him about it when school ended.

"HeyHaz." I smiled, sitting down next to him. "You okay? You seem a little on edge today."

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." Harry shrugged. "Nothing I can't handle."

"You sure?" I asked, restricting myself to nudge him with myelbow.

"Come on." Harry rolled his eyes. "There is a month of school left. Wehave exam's,then we have a couple of more years before University and I still have no idea what I want to do. I'm allowed to be a little stressed."

"Why now then?" I asked.

"Well we have like eight more weeks of school." Harryshrugged. "I don'tknow... I guess I just thought about it now."

"Haz you still have a couple of years." I smiled. "Don't worry about it now."

Harry sighed before flicking his curls out of his eyes. Something inside me pulled near my stomach. I mentally slapped myself.

"Yeah you're right." Harrysmiled at me.

"When am I wrong?" I smirked.

"Um... please. Every other day?" Harry rolled hiseyesat me.

"Yeah right Styles." I grinned at him, knowing it would tickhim off.

Instead of firing back a friendly insult,Harry took a deep breath to calm himself down.

"Something wrong Haz?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"Not a thing." He smiled. "What are you doing next Friday after school?"

"Um... nothing?" I said questioningly. "Why?"

"Care to finally see your surprise?" Harrysmirked.

My heartjumped,my stomach erupted into butterflies,my head felt dizzy. Fucking stupid teenage hormones.

"Yes!" I answered way too quickly.

"Great! I'll pick you up okay?" Hesmiled. "Be ready by like, four okay?"

"AlrightHaz." I smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow alright?"

"Yep. Thanks Hails." He smirked.

I glared at him before flicking him in the forehead.

"Never. Again." I said, my voice likedaggers.

"Hm... gonna have to ask nicely." He shrugged.

I took a deep breath and plastered a smile on my face.

"Please?" I asked, my voice sickly sweet.

"Nope." Harry laughed, standing up quicklyand running away towards hislocker.

"F you HarryStyles!" I shouted after him.

I could hear his laugh echoing throughout the halls.
