Ch 7: Return of Happiness

All people gathered around the spot to see what happened."Wei!", shouted Yunlan.Without even thinking for a moment Yunlan also jumped from the bridge. He just wanted to save his Wei.

The good thing was that the river was a bit dry and the water wasn't flowing. So, Yunlan was easily able to swim.

Yunlan was searching for Wei when he saw that Wei was swimming towards a certain direction. Yunlan took a deep breath of relief that Wei was not drowning but he was confused that what was going on in Wei's mind. Yunlan just followed Wei's direction.

Yunlan saw that Wei held someone in his arms and was going towards the bank of the river. Yunlan smiled and said,"I was such a fool to think that my Wei is trying to leave me. Here he is saving someone." Then he also went to the bank of the river.

There what he saw made him filled with joy, his heart started beating fast. The smile which he longed so much was finally visible to him.

Wei was holding a little boy were dearly in his embrace. "My Lan lan!", said Wei as he was kissing the boy on his head and tears of happiness were falling from his eyes. "I won't let you go now. I will protect you. You are my baby.", said Wei still hugging the boy. Yunlan got worried hearing that from Wei as he was a stranger and someone else's son.

Yunlan went near Wei and he saw that even the boy was holding Wei tightly. When we saw Yunlan he said, "See Ah Lan! I saved my baby. I found our Lan lan. Now I won't let him go." Yunlan smiled and nodded but deep inside he was very worried that what will he do now.

He knew that Wei was in trauma and was not in a good condition mentally due to that incident. Wei loved Lan lan a lot and seeing him die infront of his eyes, might have affected him severely.

Now the questions on Yunlan's mind were'How will he make Wei understand that the boy isn't his Lan lan? And if Wei won't understand then how will he convince the boy's guardians? What if Wei gets separated from the boy and again become a living corpse? No, Yunlan can't let that happen. He will have to think something.' A stream of thoughts were flowing in Yunlan's mind.

Took the boy from Wei's hold and held him up in his arms and smiled towards him but he could feel that the boy was a bit nervous with him. "Do you want to come with us?", asked Yunlan politely to the boy. The boy was silent from the time Wei saved him but he felt a warmth in Wei's arm. He was nervous but also confused as he was not able to understand what was happening. Still he felt a bit good with Wei and Yunlan, "Can I?", asked the boy. "Yes you surely can", said Yunlan.

"We are completely wet Wei come we need to change our clothes. Otherwise you will catch cold.", said Yunlan and Wei happily held his hand and they moved together with the boy on Yunlan's arm.

Yunlan felt very happy and complete now. And they happily went to a nearby shop to buy clothes.
