A/N: Hello and happy Tuesday, my lovelies! I hope you all are happy and living your best life and if not, I hope my new chapter helps to put an eager smile on your face. c:

Just a note, this week's chapter is only in *Royce's POV.* I realized that it's a long one for him and Laina's picks up in the next chapter in a good spot. So, this week, you get to delve deeper into Royce's mind--oooo!

Also, as of this week, because I want to know more about my readers, their interests, and personalities, I'm going to start asking you guys questions. I will occasionally ask story specific questions to get some feedback on crucial chapters, but otherwise, they're just for fun. For *me* to get to know you

So, this week's question: What is your spirit animal and why? I instinctively say a bear for myself, just because they're so soft and cute and floofy but at the same time can rip your face off in a second. Especially if you hurt or mess with their family soo--I get it. Hah.

So let's hear yours! What do you guys consider your spirit animals?

Lastly, don't forget to vote, comment, and follow to support me and my writing. I sincerely appreciate the support and all your feedback!  Enjoy this week's chapter and thank you for reading!!

"Bye, Ethan. Bye, Lain! Thanks for having us it was--" Bailey hiccuped, "--so much fun."

Bailey ducked down into the back seat of her car while Josie waited in the passenger's seat. Royce clicked Bailey's door closed and walked around the car to the driver's side. He popped the door open and glanced back at Laina and Ethan waiting just inside the doorway to their cabin. He waved once with a tight smile and thanked them again for a great afternoon and evening.

"Get them home safe, now. And you too." Laina's voice was soft, almost covered completely by the cool breeze blowing down the street.

"I will." He nodded once more at Ethan who just lifted his head a fraction of an inch and stared at him with flat, dull eyes.

He took his cue and leaned into his seat, pulling the door shut behind him. After he adjusted the seat and made sure the two women with him were buckled up, he backed out of the driveway and onto Tulip Avenue. He drove five minutes down the road and dropped Josie off at the general store, a very tired and disgruntled Frank waving him off after he led her inside. He then asked Bailey how to get to her house but realized she was dozing off in the backseat. He sighed and headed toward his house instead. After pulling in and shutting off her car, he got out and opened her door. He leaned in, tapped her shoulder, and shook her lightly until she stirred awake with a whining groan.

"What?" She pouted at him.

"We're here. Come on, it'll be nicer inside."

Royce hooked his arm under hers and helped her inside, sitting her down on the old, leather couch in the living area adjacent to the kitchen. He grabbed her a pack of crackers and a glass of water and handed them to her. She took them but her eyes wandered around the living space.

"This--isn't my house." Her voice was higher when she was intoxicated.

"Nope, it's mine."

Her eyes lazily found his and a crooked smirk shaped her lips.

"Ah, I see. Well, I'm all yours." She sprawled her arms out over the back of the couch and crossed her legs at the knee, inviting him to her.

He raised a brow and shook his head, hiding a low chuckle.
