It's been two months since I awoke as a fox, and something long awaited has finally happened.
FOOD!!
Finally real food, no more milk and good bye to the method of getting that. just remembering it is awkward.
Mother now brings us these strange looking mice, I say it's strange because it is. I've never seen a mouse with that fur colour before it was almost green, like not a normal green I mean bright green, I was hesitant to eat it at first because it looked so poisonous. And what is with that horn?Was it trying to look like a stumpy unicorn?
It was average tasting and not poisonous surprisingly.
Also I've found that my siblings like to copy me, I eat, they eat, I hesitate on something new, they wait for me to confirm its safe, and they are alway one step behind me, I found that out after eating our first mouse.
I'ts kind of cute.
I can also walk now, although I still stumble around quite a lot its an improvement, My hearing sight and sense of smell have also gotten better. and my fur is thickening, I no longer have to huddle with my siblings to keep warm
I can use my newfound fox abilities to smell, listen and see my surroundings, This place keeps getting Werder and Werder I swear. The old dried leaves were coloured, they were old dried and crumpled like normal leafs but I'm sure I've never seen any this shade of blue, there were some purple and pink grass too, but mostly just blue leafs. it smells very damp and floral.
The roots were wired as well, they looked mostly like normal except for the glowing fluorescent blue stripes in the groves.
I couldn't help but think,
'Are the trees like this too?'
I do have a lot of time to think, well not any more, nowadays I'm busy trying to get better at walking. I want to grow up fast
~sometime later~
Today mother brought in something new, it's a rabbit, maybe.
Again its a strange colour, its a deep pink with the usual blue blood that the mice had as well, but it has two horns like a goat but more rounded.
Looks poisonous.
I stumbled over to it leaned in a bit closer but not to close, and gave it a few quick sniffs.
*thump*
it's still alive! and its started flailing wildly, I run back to my siblings behind me as fast as I can and puff up defensively, It seemed disorientated, it was trying to get up but didn't seem to know which way was up
It almost kicked me, and was edging closer digging its horns into the foliage. if I got any closer me and my siblings would be in danger.
but Mother was quicker she wrapped her jaws around its neck, and before I knew it she was thrashing it around violently making extra sure it was dead this time, Before laying it down for us to eat.
Again I started edging towards it, my head low and my ears alert, sniffing a few times each clumsy step, with my siblings in tow.
This rabbit is scary if it had actually kicked me it defiantly would have killed me or at least broken a lot of my fragile bones, but I'm hungry, my siblings are hungry, and were not about to waste a good meal.
After our meal we all went to sleep with full bellies, curling up in our nest, I awoke to mother moving me into her paws to give me a bath, I fell asleep half way through, darn this tired baby body.
~some time later~
I have already lost track of time, I couldn't tell you if its day or night, and I have already lost track of how long I've been here, well I did manage to keep track for two months, that's pretty impressive for me.
This place, Is looking more and more dangerous, but I'm determined to live my best life, even if I have to do it as a fox.
That's it, that's what I'll do, when I'm old enough to fend for myself, I'll go and explore, I'll live how I like.
I curled in a ball with my tiny frizzy tail by my snout, and settled in with a brand new resolve.
