"Classes were so boring." Katie groans into her brand-new fluffy white pillow.

"You should put a pillowcase on that." I suggest. Katie holds up a finger to tell me to wait as she finishes eating her chocolate glazed donut. I put my stuff away before sitting down on the bed. I'm still not used to calling it my bed yet. It's so different from the one at home. My old bed was big and had a pretty light blue duvet and a lot of fluffy pillows. This bed is small and wooden. The sheets and comforter are both plain white, making the room look boring. I also don't like the style of the stuff. I prefer more modern things. Everything in my room back home was either blue or white. Here, everything looks either wooden, or old. I don't really know how to explain it, but I should probably stop complaining. This is my home now. Though I do want to get my own apartment later in the year, so I can have some privacy. I love Katie and all, but sometimes sharing a room is just too much. I want to be able to change and lounge around naked or whatever people do in their apartments.

"Maybe later." Katie replies breaking up my arbitrary thoughts. How did I go from thinking about pillowcases to sitting naked in an apartment? I seriously have a problem.

"Okay..."

"Where were you last night?" Katie suddenly blurts out, while browsing her Instagram page.

"I was at John's room." I admit guiltily. I think Katie's in love with him. We both used to swoon over him, but I stopped when Katie asked him out.

"Why?" There's no anger in her tone. Just pure curiosity. I spend the next few minutes telling her all about my eventful night. Katie nods and hums in the right places, frowning when I tell her about the horror movies.

"Wait, so you saw a hot guy, a shirtless hot guy, that happens to live next door?" Katie presses after I tell her about this morning in the washrooms.

"Um, yeah." I walk over to the desk and look through the box of books I brought with me.

"Woah you should totally go and break that door down." Katie always has the worst ideas. You would think she's joking, but she said that once about hunting down a cute guy in the men's washroom. She actually went in there, then got kicked out by one of the sweaty jocks that just finished field hockey practice or whatever.

"No way! I'm not going to break the door down." Katie rolls her vibrant hazel eyes and goes back to whatever she was doing on her phone. I decide to take out my laptop and write a new story. I've written a few books in the past, but none of them really meant anything to me. This time though, I'll write about me. A book about me. I'm not going to share it with anyone of course. It'll just be for me, a diary or something. I open a blank word document and start typing in the date.

Today was just an ordinary school day. Nothing special really happened. I met a lot of new people and this one girl, Natasha and I really clicked. She's bold and brave and reminds me of someone. I can't really put my finger on who, but I like her...

I stop writing when there's a loud knock on the door. Katie looks at me expectantly, and I groan. I push myself off of the bed and drag my heavy body over to the door. The person bangs on the door once again.

"I'm coming!"

The person bangs the door again.

"I said I'm coming!" I shout and yank the door open revealing John and some guys behind him.

"Hey Addy! I brought some dudes over. They're all single, but I know you want me."

"Get over yourself John. Not everyone is in love with you." I roll my eyes and he laughs.
