I know that Karasuno High is big but I didn't expect to get lost this easily. I have to find the GYM before anyone gets there because I really am in no mood to talk to anyone. I was never really good at starting conversations so I didn't get any luck in making new friends here.

This is the third time I pass this vending machine. I think my aunt would be really disappointed if she finds out wasn't able to join the volleyball sports team.

She wants me to beat my cousin one day. Don't get me wrong, I like Aina, it just that she says that we don't really get each other. I just went along with it and never really questioned her judgment even though I never understood what she meant by it.

I can hear the ball but I can't find the door to. OH now, I can see Aina's shoes at the door, but how did she get here before me. She was always faster but never used her head even for a moment. She's alone, that's for sure a good thing, guess I got here before the team.

"Hey (Y/N)" Ania called out, "Oh hey," I replied.

I found a cart full of volleyball and started practicing against a wall. Ania is doing the same on the other side of the room. I haven't played in a while so I am chasing after the ball most of the time.

I want to get at least 7 in a row. I checked the time and I was pretty sure the team won't be here for a while. I cant hear Ania's ball anymore. "Is she done?" I say to myself. I look around and I find Ania looking at me with a weird look on her face.

She always has the same look on which tells me that she has something to say. "Spit it out," I tell her. "OKAY, calm down, it's just that-" She laughs a bit "it's just that you are trying so hard to beat me when you can't even get the ball to go straight". She bursts out laughing.

I turn back and hit the ball as hard as I can, it bounces off the wall and flies across the room to hit Ania straight in the head. I burst out laughing while she gives me her death glare. I stop. That face always gives me chills and they definitely don't feel good.

Ania takes the ball and throws it right in my direction. I knew she would do something like that, she was always so predictable anyway, I run to the side, and before I could see anything I hit the cart full of volleyballs. My eyes had some water in them but I definitely wasn't crying, I think Ania saw me and left the GYM, but I am too busy collecting the balls to notice her.

I am collecting the balls as I hear someone talking. I am completely sure I am alone so I should probably ignore it.

I pick up the last pair of balls but I trip on something and I go crashing on the ground. Two guys are running in my direction.

One of them is pretty short with his hair spiked up with bleached strands on the front and the other one is tall and seems to have a buzzcut. Both of them are wearing Karasuno's team shirt.

"Are you okay?" the short one asks me. "I'm fine," I said. "No, we should get you checked. Nishinoya, get the first aid kit" the other guy said. "Why don't you get it" he argued. "JUST GO!". "fine". The short guy goes into a room that I didn't even realize was there.

"We've been watching you through the windows, you're really good. Are you trying out for the team? I'm Tanka by the way."

I blushed a little and he noticed, "I- I was just practicing, I wasn't planning on trying out today. I don't think I can make the team."

He comes back with the first aid kit, "ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU WERE AMAZING! I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL COACH UKAI ABOUT YOU."

"Thank you", Now I'm blushing really hard I can feel the heat in my body.

"Stop Nishinoya, you're making her nervous," Tanka says.

"Isn't it too early for you guys to be here? I thought you guys start after half an hour," I say while he wraps my leg with a bandage.

"We like to get here before the coach, just so we can get a head start on things. By the way, your friend outside says that she's trying out next week."

"She seems pretty confident that she's going to make the team."

I'm not surprised she told them that, she was probably trying to impress them. It's a pretty common thing for Ania to crave attention from everyone she meets. She always had the spotlight even when we were kids. I pretty much got used to it but it still gets on my nerves sometimes.

"Oh yeah, she's my cousin," I say.

"Oh, are you guys close?" Nishinoya says. Another guy enters the room.

"I should probably go before the whole team gets here" I get up and take my things headed to the door.

"You know you can stay here and practice with us," they both say.

"I have some homework to do," I say and give them a big smile.

The guy that just walked in gives me the cutest smile. and I give one back, just to be nice. He has a mole under his eye and he seems really sweet. I take a bus home today because aunt Maki has some work she needs to finish.

I hear Ania's footsteps getting louder so she's probably coming to ask for the homework. "Did you talk to them?", she asked. "Who?", I ask, "The guys on the team, who else you idiot?", "Oh yeah, I did, they said you were trying out for the team next week". "Well yeah, won't you be trying out too? BTW, I got their phone numbers, and I'm going to see them tomorrow!".

She said "B-T-W" as in the letters B-T-W, does anyone actually do that while talking? Of course, she took their phone numbers, nothing is more important than the guy's attention to her. "Have fun!" I tell her and look back at my book. I didn't have much homework but I couldn't concentrate. The corners of the book are full of eyes and drawings that I do in class. I find an empty spot and start sketching an eye. I don't think the teacher is going to accept a student's paper that is full of doodles but I don't really care, the only important thing is the fact that I did what she assigned.

I text my friends on the group chat.

Hey guys. how was the first week without me?

SAKU: Really boring without your jokes.

RIE: Everyone was asking us about you.

I can't keep my eyes open anymore. I close them and sleep peacefully.
