I barely passed my exams but I still did. Ukai has called me a bunch of times to ask me if I'm going to Tokyo because he wanted to take me out. I never gave him a definite answer.
I really want to go but I didn't want to ask someone to cover for me in my job since its only my first week.
The trip to Tokyo is tomorrow and I won't be going. Damn, that was hard to admit. I did everything I could to play volleyball just to end up not going to any practice matches.
I order something online for Ukai. It's not much but I think it's cute. I got an earring with a dangling silver heart that has his initials on the back of it.
It came today, the same day I was gonna go to his house. I go over wearing a pair of baggy pants, a tiny shirt, and covered it with a huge flannel. I haven't been putting any effort into my outfits and I don't think that matters.
I already have my own key but I never used it because I feel like I'm invading his privacy. He answers the door and I walk in.
"The door wasn't locked you know."
"Ya, I do."
"And you also have a key... why don't you just come in?"
"It's your house and your privacy."
"You're always here y/n, You don't have to worry about it."
I can't say anything to that. He said I'm always here, does he mean I shouldn't come as much. Or maybe I should just leave.
I push these thoughts to the back of my head and think about what's important now. The earring. Is it too childish? What if he doesn't like it?
He sits on the couch in his messy living room. I'm going to join him but I start picking up his jackets and hoodies that are filed with empty cigarette boxes.
Damnit! How many does he smoke?
"You should stop smoking for a while, or just generally not smoke as much."
He turns around to face me. I continue to pick them up.
"Ukai, I swear to go if I see one more empty cigarette box I'm going to-"
He gets off the couch and starts walking towards me. "You're going to what? Huh? What are you going to do."
He walks closer and closer until I have my back against the wall while he towers over me.
He picks a new cigarette and lights it.
"Ukai..."
He slowly blows the smoke out on my face.
I'm speechless. What do I do? Should I slap him across the face and grab the cigarette out of his hand or should I just stay quiet?
"You don't have anything to say now, do you?" He says with a smirk.
He then lights it out just right by my head on the wall. I push him and go to his room. He goes back to the couch.
Fuck him. He can die for all I care.
He came to his room after a while, "are you done or do you want to cry a little?"
"I'm just trying to find a lighter," I say with a cigarette between my fingers.
If he wants to play that game I can play it too.
"Give me yours," I say.
"Oh calm down. How many have you had today?"
"That's none of your business," I walk out and take a lighter from my purse and light my cigarette.
"Fine, you can do whatever you want. It's not like I care."
