Cecilia's POV
After the tour with Maddie, Amber and I were placed in the Hermes Cabin because we weren't claimed. "Amber?" I whispered to her as we sat on the floor in Hermes Cabin. "Yeah" she answered looking dazed. "What the hell is going on?" I asked her. "I have no clue, honestly, I think we've lost our marbles and been sent to a camp for whacked kids" she answered, staring off into space. I laughed for a second but then stopped. "Wait your serious?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. "Dead serious" was all she said before turning to face me. For a minute she just stared at me with her grayish hazel eyes, before staring back over at the other side of the cabin. "What's wrong?" I asked, pushing a stray hair out of her face. She turned and what I saw next surprised me. She was crying. Sweet, tough, funny, broken smile, stubborn, Amber was crying.
Amber's POV
I felt so stupid sitting there. My whole life had been one big lie. So I did something I never EVER do, I cried. I just sat there and wept. "What's wrong?" Cecilia had asked. I felt unable to speak so I just looked at her as tears ran down my cheeks. She didn't need me to say anything now. Cecilia did what she's best at. Being kind. "Hey, everything's gonna be okay, don't worry, we'll figure this out" she whispered and I hugged her. I hugged her so tight she had to tap my shoulder to tell me to let go so she could breathe. "You ok now?" she asked as I wiped my hands over my eyes. I nodded and stood up to go clean up for dinner. After that we'd have the Campfire! ' Finally' I thought 'something calming.' Oh how wrong I was.
