Amber's POV

(The next morning)

I opened my eyes to see my siblings surrounding me. 'I must have been screaming, nice going Amber' I thought and face palmed. "Welcome to Cabin 6" said a girl around 3 years older than myself. "Thanks" I muttered and slipped out of bed to go get changed into the clothes that had been set out for me.

Since I didn't start classes until tomorrow I decided to head down to the beach.

Cecilia's POV

I woke up to sounds of laughter and chatter coming from the Hermes kids. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. 'Where are my glasses?' I asked myself and then remembered that I had put them behind my pillow.

After getting changed and taking a shower, I decided to take a walk around camp and maybe make some friends. Maybe.

Amber's POV

I walked down the beach pensively. I was so deep in thought that I walked right into a pole. No, not a pole, a person. Embarrassed I stood up and suddenly found myself face to face with a boy my age. "Uh are you okay?" he asked, his voice strangely familiar. "You look familiar" I said not answering his question. For a few minutes he was silent. I took those few minutes to "examine" him. The boy had green eyes and messy brown hair, that reminded me of an Aero bar. "Have we met before?" I asked again. "I don't think so" he replied, and he stuck out his hand. "I'm Jacob." I raised my eyebrow before saying "Uh yeah, I'm Amber." "The new daughter of Athena" he replied shaking my hand. "How'd you....oh right. Stupid question" I answered and cursed. Jacob let out a small laugh. "Well you seem pretty laid-back for a daughter of Athena" Jacob said with a smile. "Yeah, but I could still beat your butt at climbing the lava wall" I said with a clever smirk. "Is that so? You wanna bet in it?" he asked, raising his eyebrow. "Sounds like a challenge" I replied. "Last one to the top has to insult a tree nymph" he said. "Bring it on!" I shouted and bolted toward the lava wall.
