You guys are so lucky
...(Rash's pov, earlier.)
We headed up to the roof, me leading the charge. I had already stripped my shirt off on the stairs. I stepped onto the balcony and left my phone on the bench, not wanting to break it. I could afford another easily, but it was just easier to leave it there.
I quickly climbed the ladders to the roof and waited for my partner to follow. I was a little shocked when I saw Clay there with him though. I didn't think he'd have it in him.
"Come on you two!" I called down to them, excited to do this.
I waited for them to finish talking and moved to the edge of the roof. Good thing it was flat.Dave stepped next to me when he got onto the roof.
"Clear the pool!" I shouted down at everyone in the water.
"Whoo! Rash!" Some girls shouted up.
"Ready?" I asked Clay and Dave.
"Yeah!" Dave said, full of energy.
He ran to the other side of the roof and waited for me and Clay to follow.
"You sure you wanna do this?" I asked Clay as we moved to Dave.
"Y-yeah. Seems like a lot of fun." He said to me, quietly.
I wasn't too sure if he was telling the truth, but he was already up here. And if he was willing to join us, I wouldn't stop him."Alright." I said as I got ready to sprint to the other side. "One, two, three!"
I noticed Dave grab his brother's arm as we ran. This was the best part. We each jumped over the side of the roof. The feel of the cold air against my skin reminded me of when I used to jump off the peer a few towns over when I was younger.
Tucking my legs close to my body I couldn't help but give off a little laugh. Neither could Dave. I said that this was our thing. Gravity did its job and in seconds we were engulfed in freezing water.
I was full of adrenaline so I wasn't in shock for long. I broke through the water and everyone's cheers were echoing through my ears.We got out of the pool and Clay, the poor kid looked like he was still in shock.
Dave grabbed his arm and held it high. "WE ARE IMMORTAL!" He yelled, making everyone else yell louder.
I watched people jump back into the pool as I bounced over to Dave and his brother. I grabbed Dave's shoulders.
"That was awesome!" I said, still full of adrenaline. "I'm going again!"
I was off before anyone said anything. I ran through the house and back upstairs. I climbed the ladders to the roof and stood on the edge once more. I knew I had a giant grin on my face as everyone shouted up to me."Do a flip!" Someone called up at me.
That made my smile wider. I jogged over to the other side and turned. I took a quick breath and pelted for the edge.
As I was jumping off it, I somersaulted, gaining more cheers.
I flipped several times before splashing into the water. It took the breath out of me almost instantly, but it was a feeling I loved.
The second my head broke the surface, it was put back in with everyone jumping into the pool. The guys from the baseball team were the first ones on me. We messed around, fighting with each other as the music picked up.
We were in the water for some time, joking around like lads do before I decided to get out.I needed a drink and the water had killed the buzz that I had gathered. It wasn't much of a buzz, but I still wanted it back.
I moved to the kitchen, grabbing another drink. I joked around with some mates for a minute or so before heading back outside. To dry off a bit I thought I'd sit infront of the fire pit since it was already alight.
Dave decided to join me, along with Stephanie, Jules and Kelly. Though she seemed a little uncomfortable being around me. I couldn't help but feel guilty about it.
Eric joined us soon after and we all said how great the party was. He returned the compliments on the jump we did. Eli came over, saying that we should play truth or dare. We all agreed and she moved to the house.
