Chapter 16

By the time the boys dropped me at home, it was already late and pretty dark outside. As I closed the front door, the house was surprisingly quiet. I wonder if Eddie is even home. I sat onto the couch and placed the ice pack on the counter. Suddenly, I heard a feint sob coming from upstairs. Eddie?

I tip toed upstairs and slowly opened his door to encounter Eddie sitting on the edge of his bed with his sobbing face buried into his hands. Not to scare him, I creeped into his room and sat besides him. I placed my arm over his shoulder and he suddenly lifted his face; exposing his tear-filled eyes and wet cheeks.

"Oh.. umm hey Juicy" he stuttered, trying to wipe away his tears with his sleeve

"What's wrong Eddie? I've never seen you like this before" I softly replied

"Oh, umm.." he looked at me smiling, trying to hide the truth but the reassuring look I gave him, caused him to tear up again and rested his head on my shoulder

"I'm so sorry Juicy" he whimpered "I never knew I hurt you that much. If I wasn't so stupid and just took off my headset, none of this would have happened. When you guys left earlier, I was so worried. I cried and cried, praying that you wouldn't hate me or that I didn't cause any permanent damage"

My heart broke seeing Eddie like this but I stayed strong. I moved my hand onto his upper arm and pulled him closer.

"Eddie, I could never hate you. You're like a brother to me. We both know it was just an accident and thankfully, the doctor announced that it's just a hairline fracture. It will heal soon,don't worry."

A tiny smile appeared onto Eddie's face and in his current state, that was enough for me. We sat like that for a while before I felt my phone vibrate

(New message from Jason Bentley)

"Who's that?" asked Eddie, now sitting up

"Oh, it's my real estate agent" I replied, before opening the message

(Good evening Mr Gibson! I know it's late but I have awesome news for you! The exterminator got rid of all the rats and other small pests quicker than we expected. All the dust and gas has been cleared so you'd be able to move in by tomorrow already! Again, a huge apology for the inconvenience.)

"You're moving back tomorrow dawg! Aren't you excited?!" cheered Eddie

I switched off my phone and gave a huge smile, hiding the realization that I'll be moving soon... away from Eddie. I loved it here but it went by way too fast. I wish I could have one more day with him but hey, stay positive right? I gave Eddie a huge hug and actually got excited about my move tomorrow

"The boys and I can even come over and help move the furniture and stuff if you want" he continued

"Yeah, that would be awesome. Thanks!" I replied before getting up to return downstairs

"Oh and one more thing, I ran into Swagger earlier at the hospital. Him and the Misfits are throwing a party tomorrow night and they invited the boys and I. Do you perhaps want to come as well?"

"Whoa, Swagger? I almost forgot about him" joked Eddie "But yeah, that sounds fun"

I smiled and left the room. I got out my phone and texted the boys:

Juicy: Hey Guys! I need a huge favour from you guys please!

Mully: Oi, whats up?

Juicy: My real estate agent texted me earlier. The infestation is all cleared out and I can move back in tomorrow. I need help with moving the furniture and stuff though.

Narrator: About time they are gone! And yeah, we'll help

Mully: Same. Oh and how's your shoulder? What did Eddie say?

Juicy: He was a bit worried that the damage was severe but we talked it through and everything's good!

Eddie: Hey, don't expose me dawg!

Juicy: But it's true! You were worried

Eddie: OK fine. But how could I not? I'd never wanna hurt one of my homies

Mully: Awww! Eddie was worried about you Juicy :P

Eddie: ...

Juicy: Now you know how it feels to be made fun of, Eddie!

Eddie: -_-

Narrator: Hey Juicy, why not let Eddie kiss your shoulder or something? Maybe it'll heal faster then ;)

Eddie: That's gay dawg! But I'd totally do that though!

Juicy: I feel so special now (^w^)

Eddie: You are...

Josh: Goddammit, can you guys stop spamming?

Narrator: Sorry, Eddie and Juicy are having a cute moment

Josh: It's about time!

Eddie: Nah I'm just messing dawg. Nothing like that is going on here

Mully: Aww, poor Juicy

Juicy: Don't...

Eddie: Anyway, I actually have to go now. I took my last tablet and I'll doze off any second now...

Mully: Night bro!

Juicy: Sleep Well Eddie!

Narrator: At least send him a heart, Juicy!

Juicy: I promise you Grant, tomorrow I am slapping you so hard!

Eddie: You guys are funny. Bye!

I switched off my phone after once again, getting embarrassed by those idiots. I should've prepared for this constant humiliation before I confessed to them. Oh well, I have all the time to slap them tomorrow...
