Awake at Night

Chapter 2 ~ Sylvie ~

The buffet hall wasn’t that bad.  I swear I saw Sam shiver with fear. Al had his head down most of the time. We stole some bagels to eat later. Then me and Al went to our room. The new kids setting up they’re beds reminded us that we had been upgraded to the master suite. We picked up Sam from the supply closet and went to the highest floor. 
As soon as we reached we saw a wooden door and decided that that was our room/suite. We went in and guess what. We were right! Yay. It was very awkward and silent from the buffet hall till here until Sam decided to talk.
‘This is it.’ he said. What I wanted to say was ‘No shit’ but instead I said ‘Yep’ 
I’m not gonna lie.  I’ve had a crush on Sam since I came here. He’s cute but kinda short. 
Anyways, we went in and chose our beds. They all were king sized. I saw another bed in the corner.  
Before I could say anything, Hart entered the room.
‘ I see you all have made yourselves at home.’ Hart said. He looked at the bed in the corner. ‘Ah. Looks like your other roommate has not arrived yet.’ He said.
‘What other roommate?’ Sam asked. ‘Is he new?’ 
‘Yes. She is indeed new.’ Hart said.
Great. More suspense. 
I hated when I didn't know something. It bothered me. Especially this. I had a bad feeling about this.
'I'll leave you all to get settled then. I wonder why you haven't already but that's okay I suppose.' Hart said.
'Well, we actually forgot so-' Sam started but was interrupted by extremely loud drums. The drums that were played when someone new arrives…
'Ah. That must be your roommate' Hart tried to sound calm but he was actually screaming. 
I covered my ears as we went downstairs to meet the newbie. Part of me felt bad. The newbies are always kicked around and laughed at. I remember when I first came here. It was not a pleasant experience. 
We were about to go outside when the doors flung open almost hitting Al in the face.
A girl with choppy black hair and electric blue eyes came in and stared Sam right in the face with a smile plastered over her own. Sam looked like he was about to cry but that was usual. 
Then she stared at me and Al, still smiling.
'Sup losers' she said 'I'm Thalia Grace'
