Chapter 7
Asha pranced to the edge of Pride Rock and looked down with amazement. She looked back up to her big sister.
"What?" Nama laughed.
"You're so lucky... this is all going to be yours one day." Asha told Nama.
Nama looked down at the cub with a slightly annoyed smile.
"None of this is going to be mine. Kato is first in line, remember?" Nama reminded Asha.
"But he doesn't have a mate." Asha pointed out as Nama put a paw over her mouth.
"Shush. Mother and father don't know yet." Nama said with a hushed whisper.
"I'm sorry." Asha apologized.
Nama looked down at the small cub with a fierce spirit.
"Do you want to walk around the Pridelands with me?" Nama asked.
"Of course! Where's Leah?" Asha questioned about her sister.
"She's most likely with Kato and Kijivu, you know how she choose her older brother over her older sister any day." Nama replied.
"I choose my older sister over Kato anytime." Asha laughed, rolling on her back with a giggle.
"Come on you little trouble maker." Nama smiled, rolling her eyes as they walked.
"Nama, where are you two going?" Kiara asked her daughters.
"I'm taking Asha on a walk around the Pridelands." Nama told her mother.
"Just be back soon, you want to be well rested for your hunt tomorrow." Kiara smiled, reminding her daughter of her first hunt.
"We will." Nama replied, turning at her heel and walking down Pride Rock with Asha.
The two walked around, Asha interested in every butterfly, blade of grass, and leaf that she saw. Nama thought only of her first hunt. What if I'm not good enough? She questioned herself. Next thing she knew, she was pounced on. As usual, she and her attacker rolled on the round, doing a flip or two before she pinned them down.
"Roho?" She asked with surprise.
"Hello princess." He greeted.
Nama laughed and got off of him.
"Don't do that." Nama giggled.
"Will the princess forgive me?" He pouted with a fake frown.
"The princess forgives you." Nama replied, rubbing her head against his as he licked her cheek.
"Ewe!" Asha giggled immaturely.
Nama turned her head to her sister, who was once again, laughing hysterically on her back.
"Oh whatever Asha." Nama laughed.
"May we join your walk?" Roho asked, directing to himself and Bora.
"Of course." Nama replied happily. "Asha, why don't you walk with Bora." Nama told Asha.
Asha clenched her jaw. For some reason, she had never liked Bora, but she didn't know why. She pawed her sister's shoulder.
"Nama..." She requested.
Nama leaned her head down so Asha could whisper into her ear.
"Bora doesn't like me." Asha whined quietly.
"Try and work it out." Nama replied.
Asha rolled her eyes and sighed. She hung towards the back of the group, following Bora. She didn't say a word to the white cub. Instead, Asha fell further behind each second, and once she far enough away, she ditched the group. She ran to the water hole to play with her friends.
