Of the Southern Water Tribe

At age 17 Sokka is dubbed the Wolf of the South in a report sent back to the Fire Nation capital. The report contains very little detail about who this Wolf is or how he operates. The vast majority of the message is numbers and second hand accounts and a list of MIAs that nobody will ever find. Its long and arduous, but the message is clear, there is very real threat to stability in the south.

His raiding parties are quiet, precise, and lethal. His men are some of the best trained in the ocean. They overwhelm a ship, board, dispose of the disoriented crew and leave. The empty ships usually aren't found for days. Its gives Sokka the chance to take out several in rapid succession before disappearing. The Fire Nation falters in it's control of the reigion.

At age 18 Sokka has a fleet at his command. Over a dozen ships sail around the Souhtern contient as a defensive push against the occupation. With only 300 men at his disposal Sokka has nearly complete control of the Southern Water Tribe waters.

He turns his attention inwards from the sea towards his home. Whats left of his people are scattered across one great big slab of ice in near complete isolation from each other. He dreams of a Water Tribe with thriving trade and communications and culture.

Its been over ten years since he last saw his family. Over ten years since his last words to his father. He has no knowledge of whether or not Hakkoda is even still alive. Somewhere in the very back of his head he can't bring himself to care. He's shoved all that pain and loss into a box and tucked it far far away from his thoughts.

His closest friend and subordinate, his Uncle Bato, returns broken but alive, fresh from the fight in the Earth Kingdom. Bato establishes their home village as the main port in the Water Tribe and takes over as Cheiftan.

Sokka can't bring himself to go home.
