Shadow Riddle: A Harry Potter Fan Fic

Year three

I get on the train and take a seat next to Draco. He has cut his hair shorter this year. "I hate this stupid school. Especially potter and stupid Dumbledor." He says in his cold tone as potter walks past our carriage. I lean on his shoulder as we are the only ones in here. "Bad summer?" I ask when he stiffens up. "No just don't like you doing that."
"Sure you don't" I say sitting up and pulling a face. Draco smirks. Daco and me are made to be mean, so being friends is basically really bad for every other person on this planet.

I see Carmen walk to the door

"hey shad hey 'Draco'"

"Hey Carmen" I say
"Don't say my name like that or my farther will hear about this" He declares in his cold voice
"My farther will hear about this..." Carmen mocks

We talk in the common room again. I end up talking to Draco every night because the others get tired.

"I know you hate school, but I'm glad I'm back."
"Your not the only one" he says. Staring at the ceiling.
"Pardon?"
"Yeah you heard me. My dad, I love him but, he is pure evil. I can't bear it."

I wrap my arms around and hug him

"Don't worry, I know what its like"
"Have you heard back yet? from your dad, I mean." Draco stirs and changes the subject

"No, though I got a letter saying that he is returning soon. But soon can be a while to dad."

I look up at Draco. (He isn't as small as he was before) and he looks down at me.

"Look at us talking about feelings" I mock trying to change the mood. Draco smirks but is still looking at me.

"Well, uh yeah we might need to get to bed. Lessons tommorow"

I smile like I've never smiled before as I head up the stairs.

"Night Draco"
"Night shadow"

For once he said good night. I think I'm changing him. Or breaking him.

I wake up with the sunlight beaming down. Then I realise its a wand. DRACO'S WAND.

"What?"
"Come with me"

I get up and pull out the invisibility cloak. I fling it over Draco's and my head.

"Where are we going?"
"Shut up, people will hear you."

We walk through the halls and out onto the bridge where the dementers are floating.

"I hate these things" I say, in a similar snappy tone to Draco's

"Same. They are an intrusion. Wait until my farther hear's this."
"Okay so enough about dementers," I say changing subject quickly ,"why did you bring me here?"
"Oh yeah. So my farther just updated the shed so we are having a house warming party over Christmas and I heard you needed somewhere to stay so I was wondering..." He stops and stares into the sky.

"Yes. Ofcourse I will stay over. If you want me over."
"Yes well great"

There is an unsettling pause. I fumble with my thumbs.

"Hey, Draco there is kinda something I want to tell you too."
"Yeah?" He looks up. His pale face brightens in the moonlight. I should tell him about the book I gave to Hermione and got harry potter into the chamber of secrets but I don't.

"Draco I" I pause. I shouldn't say it. It could spoil our friendship. But my mouth doesn't care.

"I like you. A lot."

I look up at him. I just want to kiss him he looks so cute, with his soft blonde hair falling over his face and his blue eyes sparkle with cold light. Ugh why am I so girly sometimes.

Draco is silent. He just stares at the dementers. Then he turns to me. I'm worried he is gonna laugh and tell me to get real or something.

But he just smiles. "I know" he says and he stands up. "And I like you to......." He is cut off when I move closer and kiss him. He pulls me in even closer. I couldn't breathe. I just kissed him. We finally let go and look at each other. And laugh. We get back un  dr 

the cloak and walk back arm in arm. I was wrong about last night. I can smile more.

We drop the cloak and sit in the common room. I say sit, it was more leaning and kissing. We just look at each other. For once draco looks happy. "Now we do really need to go to bed. Apparently McGonagall has a pop quiz in store"
"Yeah, night shadow" Draco says as he pulls me in for one final kiss then turns to go back. He mumbles something as he turns around that I can't quite make out.
