Author's Pov

Throughout the day, the Ubuyashiki family did everything Hinode wanted to do.

They went through the village, where everyone greeted them kindly. They went to the lake where Hinode and his father used to gather the water.

Though, Hinode's favorite place was at the top of the mountain. On the top, you can see the whole village and the sunset. They sat up there and watched the view and Hinode could only think, I wish this could last forever.

The bad part was, Hinode's condition got worse throughout the day. He started breathing heavier, then he started coughing. Isamu had to carry Hinode up the mountain.

His mother and father knew that his time was near. They were heartbroken and weren't prepared at all, but there was nothing they could do. So they did what they could, they wanted the give Hinode the best day he could have.

Ako and Kichirou had fallen asleep with their heads on Hinode's lap. He patted both of their heads as they all sat watching the sunset. He smiled the whole time. Even though he was in pain, he never stopped.

Hinode looked to his parents, who were sitting beside him and said, "thank you okaa-san, otou-san. Today was amazing."

Fujiko and Isamu wanted to cry so bad. They wanted to let their tears run rampant, but they didn't. They want Hinode to remember them as happy, they want to stay strong for him. So, they held each others hand and smiled at him. Fujiko was the one to speak. "Of course, Hinode. We want you to be happy."

Hinode smile didn't falter as he looked back to the sunset. "I'm not going to make it though the night, I can feel it. So I have something I wish to ask of you."

His parents perked up at this. They were going to grant this wish, his final wish, no matter what.

Hinode turned back to them, his smile replaced with a grim one and his eyebrows furrowed. "Please, don't let Muzan come near me."

This suprises them, especially Fujiko. She thought they liked each other. Then she thought about her talk with Hinode this morning. Something serious must have happened in their fight.

Isamu was about to ask why, but Fujiko stopped him. She took her hand out of his and placed it on his chest. When Isamu looked at her, she shook her head not to ask.

Then she looked at Hinode with a smile. "Alright, honey. If that's what you wish, then we'll make it come true."

A smile crept back onto Hinode's face. "Thank you."

~Time skip with Isamu carrying Hinode and Kichirou, while Fujiko carried Ako.~

They arrived back at their home quickly. Hinode was getting even worse. Kichirou and Ako had been woken up by Hinode's coughing. His condition scared them all.

Now, Hinode was laying on a futon with a wet rag on his forehead. As he laid there, he hoped Muzan wouldn't come. He was on the brink of passing out, but when Ako started to cry it gave him motivation to stay awake. He patted her head as she clutched the blanket on top of him. His smiled at her and said, "don't cry, Ako. Everything's going to be alright."

This didn't help sooth her, she didn't stop crying as she said, "don't die, Hino-nii! Or I'll never forgive you!"

Kichirou also had tears and snot wanting run down his face, but he held it in. He wants to be strong for his big brother. He was clutching onto his pants to help hold it in.

Isamu and Fujiko were in the same position. They were trying to hold in their tears. Though, Fujiko wasn't doing too good at it. She had a hand over her mouth to muffle her sobbing. Isamu had a few stray tears leak out and a trembling lip.

They couldn't stand to see Hinode like this. What had he done to deserve such a terrible curse?

After a while, Ako had cried herself to sleep. So Fujiko picked her up and took her to bed. Isamu went to retrieve a clean bucket of water for Hinode's fever. Though, he knew it wouldn't do anything, he wanted to at least sooth some of his son's pain.

Kichirou was to only one left. He was now holding Hinode's hand. Until he felt his big brother tremble. He must be cold. I'll go get him another blanket.

Then, he left the room quietly, not wanting to disturb Hinode. When he made it half way to the storage room, he heard a knock. Which confused him. Who could that be, at a time like this?

He walked to the front shoji and opened it. He look up to see a scary looking man with red cat-like eyes. Instantly, Kichirou knew who this was so he wasn't scared. "Muzan-sama, what are you doing here?"

Muzan's Pov

The front shoji was opened by a little boy. I look down and examine him. This must be Kichirou. He looks just like how Hinode described him.

I smiled and got down on one knee. I pat his head gently and say, "hello, Kichirou. Your brother has told me a lot about you." I stand up again, my hand still placed gently on his head. "I've come to cure him."

Kichirou's eyes widen in shock, then tears started streaming down his face. He brought his hands up to wipe them away, but it doesn't work. "If you can cure my aniki! Please, do it! Make my aniki better!"

I pat his head one more time and let go, gaining his attention. "I will. Lead me to your aniki, Kichirou."

As we walked through the dojo, I could only smile at my thoughts. I'm coming my precious Taiyou. Hang in there just a little bit longer.

~Small time skip.~

When we reached my Taiyou's room, we stopped at the closed entrance. I kneeled down and looked Kichirou in the eyes. "Kichirou, you need to wait out here while I cure your aniki, okay?"

Kichirou shook his head up and down rapidly.

I stood up and opened the shoji. Then stepped in quietly and shut it again.

Immediately, I could smell death in the air. I could see Hinode's chest rising and falling at a fast rate. Oh, my Taiyou, how you've suffered.

I walked up to him and got down on my knees beside him. I could now fully see the condition he is in. He was bandaged head to toe, even then, I could still see some veiny purple skin. Those must be the cursed markings.

Slowly he opened his eye and looked at me weakly. "Muzan? How did you get in?"

I smiled as I removed the wet rag and moved a strand of hair away from his face. "I have my ways. Are you ready to be cured, my Taiyou?"

Tears started forming in his eye. "Please, Muzan. Don't do this."

I gently lifted him into my arms and took out a small bottle full of my blood. He was to weak to fight back. "I'm sorry, my Taiyou. I have to."

He turned his head away so I couldn't put any blood in his mouth. I smiled at this. Always a fighter. Fine, I'll do it a different way.

I popped the bottle open and poured all of the contents into my mouth. Then I threw the bottle and grabbed Hinode's face.

I lower my lips to his until they were together. I kissed his lips, which surprised him. I internal chuckled at his reaction.

I made my way into his mouth and pushed all of the blood down his throat. When he realized what I was doing, he tried to escape my grasp. But I won't let him.

When I made sure he swallowed every last drop, I moved away. I looked to see lots of tears running down his face as he looked at me with pure despair. "How could you do this to me?"

No sooner than he said that, he passed out. I placed my forehead on his as I smiled in success. "Because, I cannot live without you, my precious Taiyou."
