Muzan's Pov

Seven years.

It's been seven years since my Taiyou has opened his eyes. And still, he makes me wait.

His curse markings don't look like they have been healing at all, but they are. Just very, very slowly. And I hate it. I want him to wake up now, but I'll wait. I'll wait a thousand years for him.

Maybe he'll wake up once those wretched markings have completely healed. I'll have to find a way to make the healing process move faster.

Maybe that blue spider lily would help. Not only with healing Hinode, but maybe it can help me conquering the sun as well!

Yes, I have to find it. And I'll take down anyone who gets in my way.

My newly found powers keep growing every day. And with every person I consume, the stronger I become. It's exhilarating! I want to share this feeling with Hinode. I want him to feel the high of power. If only I had that flower, I could make it a reality.

However, first things first, I need to set up camp. Somewhere those wretched humans won't bother us. I've grown tiresome of moving place to place all the time. I need a safe place to put my Taiyou. So no one can disturb his healing process.

But where though? Maybe somewhere very populated. Those damn warrior monks won't be expecting us in a place like that. Though, I'm sure half of the country knows about me by now. Considering the amount of people I've killed.

It's funny really. I've seen wanted poster of a shadow figure with red eyes saying 'WANTED- AKUMA - DEAD OR ALIVE'

I guess that was supposed to be me, and the name is ironic even. It makes me want to laugh. I guess I really am a demon now.

Right now, I was walking through the semi busy streets of a small market village. I had taken over a small house just outside the village. That's where Hinode is sleeping, and where I am now heading. When I mean taken over, I really mean I ate the family living there. They aren't important to me, not like my Taiyou was. Compared to him, they aren't even worthy of being the dirt beneath my foot. They're all scum, bugs, parasites. They are nothing.

The sun was beginning to rise, so I have to hurry. Besides, it's time for Hinode to eat.

~Time skip to Muzan getting to the house.~

I walked in and shut the outer shoji. Then I walked back to Hinode, who slept peacefully on a pile of futons and pillows. His hair laid spread out all around him and his head lay tilted to the side. Which caught my interest.

Hinode has only moved on a few occasions. His eyes didn't leak tears anymore, but sometimes he would be in a different position from when I last saw him. I excited me to no end.

I sat down next to Hinode and smiled brightly at him, even though he can't see it. Then I put one of my hands under his head, and pulled it up a bit. I placed my forehead on his, giving a closed eye smile. "How mischievous of you. Moving when I'm not around."

Then I looped my arm, the one that was under his head, around his body. Pulling him towards me, so he was somewhat in my lap and his head leaned on my chest.

I smiled down at him. He is so beautiful. "It's time to eat, my Taiyou."

Hinode didn't react, he just cutely snored away. I didn't mind though, I like his cute little snores.

I brought my free wrist to my mouth and bit down until I drew blood. After drawing blood, I placed the open wound in Hinode's mouth.

At first he didn't do anything. Then I felt him weakly suck up the blood. Which made me smile. I didn't have to force feed him anymore, he started feeding himself a year ago. Sometimes he would get a little mischievous and bite down on my healing wrist, to get more blood. But that only happened twice.

After about three minutes, he let go of my wrist and went back to snoring. Causing me to chuckle a little. I placed him back down on the futons, then grabbed a clean rag. "Not that hungry today, huh?" I gently try to clean the blood off of his face. "The least you could do is not make such a mess."

After I was done cleaning his face I threw the rag somewhere behind me, not caring where it landed. It's not like we'll be staying here long anyway.

I gently rubbed Hinode's head and sighed. Then I stood up and walked over to the pile of papers stacked close to my sleeping Taiyou.

I sat down and started looking through them. They were mostly maps of the country, multiple cities, and other random areas. I need to find that temporary, permanent home to stay in. We can't just keep moving around. It's so tedious.

I looked at the map of a city and scowled. That city won't do. To many shrines, to many people. We'll get noticed to easily.

The same goes for the next three maps I look at. My temper was starting to run thin. I threw the city maps in front of me and rubbed my temple in frustration.

When I looked back to the pile of maps, and one caught my interest. I picked it up and scanned it over. I sadistic smile kept onto my face. This is it, this is the place.

The map read, "Ki no Umi, The See of Trees."

~To be continued.~

Okay so, the sea of trees is the suicide forest. I know that. I just thought it would be cool to have it in the story. I mean, the forest had to have been there way before it was actually named the suicide forest, right? I have no idea what it was called in the heian period, so I improvised. Ki no Umi literally means The Sea of Trees.
