Chapter-13
I felt no senses and landed on the floor, seeing Nadiya's unacceptable masquerade! With my back to thewall opposite to her room's door, my body started rocking against the wall, trying to dememorise allthat happened and trying hard to believe the vicious murder that took place! I could never imagine sucha thing can ever happen in reality with me witnessing it all. I could NOT accept this version of Nadiya.Never! I wanted to run away from this nightmare but I could not. I had to battle it all myself. I wasscared I've lost my sister.I turned towards that floating evil possessing my poor sister. She came down. Walked up to the mirror.Looking at the mirror, she bent her head acute to the right, almost touching the shoulder. She held thesilver pendant that she was wearing and took it off. She left a heavy breath as if a violent storm left herbody. She kept it at the dressing table and turned towards me. She came and sat down next to me andtried to put her hand on my shoulder, I moved back too scared and pushed away her hand. "Noah, itsme..its me.." Nadiya's feeble voice called for me. I kept my eyes closed and kept moving away from her, struggling to survive in the dreadful atmosphere! She kept on trying to touch me calling out my name. Her voice then calmed me down and when I looked at her, she looked like my sister I thought I have lost. She looked pale, her lips dry, eye circles dark and she looked drained. Her voice weaker than it had everbeen, her eyes looked they've been in pain for ages. I hugged her."What is happening Nadiya? Are you fine?" I asked all teared up. "Father Andrew hurt you? How didthat floor open? How did u float up there that way? What had happened to your eyes?"Nadiya held my hand and told me to calm down. I took a deep breath. "You really wanna know, Noah?"Nadiya asked, her voice broke. "I do and I want to help you," I pleaded. "Okay. But then you have tobelieve what I say even if it sounds unreal," Nadiya replied. "After all that happened right in front of myeyes, I'm ready to believe anything you say," I took her hands in mine and folded them begging her totell me the truth. She asked, "Do you remember the day we decided to change rooms? That day I didn'tleave your room at my will. I was dragged up here through the stairs."8days back..The door closed right in front of me and locked me up in this deadly darkness. A thunderlike voice in adeafening whisper echoed, "YOU CANNOT GO OUT OF HERE !" And just then, the dark shadow wasgone.I tried vigorously to unlock the door, the windows.. But..to my despair! I sat down beside the dressingtable, with irresistible tears for hours I had no account of. I didn't feel the strength or will to answer toMom, Dad and your numerous calls. My hunger and thirst died down. I felt weak. In the mirror, my eyeslooked sullen and dark. All of a sudden, something hit my right shoulder. It was a granola bar! I turnedaround, hoping the door has opened. Alas! It wasn't. I sat down where I was. With eyes closed and nohopes. Again, something hit me from the left. I turned to find a water bottle! "Okay, so you don't wantme to die anymore. I thought you really wanted me to. Didn't you?" I did not eat or drink anything. After a while, I heard a scratching sound coming from the mirror-side. I got up to see. "MI DISPIACE" themirror read, in big black shaky letters. "I don't understand," I said. The letters disappeared.I A M S O R R YOne after the other letter got scribbled on the mirror again. I stared at the letters, took out my palm andplaced it over the mirror. A palm, an inch bigger than mine circumferentially, appeared from the otherside of the mirror touching mine. I withdrew my hand immediately. I heard a click sound and turnedback. I could see light peeping inside from the unlocked door..
