We spent the last few days just shopping and getting adjusted to the neighborhood. My parents would be leaving in 4 days. I protest and try to stop them but all in vain. My dad is in the real estate business and he says he needs to be in the city of Dubai soon for a smooth sailing. My mom's a homemaker and she follows my dad everywhere... it's kinda cute. "You have Ayaan with you, Aki! Dad would home alone" says my mom when I ask her to stay back with me for a few more weeks.

Ayaan is my little brother. He's 19 years old and he's starting school at the London School of Economics & Political Science tomorrow pursuing a bachelors in management. We'll be staying together in our apartment and he'll commute to school everyday. It's great that LSE is just 10 minutes away from where we live. I'm kinda still pissed that my parents are leaving so soon but it's just a 8 hour plane ride to Dubai and we can see each other whenever it's convenient.

We sit at the dining table having some dosas which my mom so lovingly made and discuss about my brother's first day of college tomorrow.

LSE is a very prestigious college and has a gorgeous campus. "It's no where close to USC though!" my mind rewinds back to my college life. How much I miss college!

We sit through the convocation followed by my brother's orientation. He's such a big boy now! I can't wait for him to graduate and go conquer the world. We have a tour of the campus and go to the book store to buy his books & materials for the semester. I have a look at his booklist and nostalgia hits me all over again. I wish I were still in college in Los Angeles, basking in thee glorious sun light and just enjoying life... not that I'm not enjoying life now but life was so much more stress-free and lighter then.

"Oh damn! Your first class is at 8 AM!" I say as I have a look at my brother's schedule. Well, waking up for my 8 AM lectures is something I don't miss at all... it's good I graduated after all!
