It's been a while since my parents left. I'm still adjusting to my neighborhood and waiting until I begin my job as the creative head under Maria Grazia, the lead creative director at Christian Dior Couture. I would say I'm pretty happy with where I am right now but I also know that I'd be creatively & artistically hindered working under someone. I aspire to have a label and a couture brand of my own one day. The pay at Christian Dior is great and I also have other sources of income so I should have enough to do something on my own after I feel I have saved enough to survive any losses I might encounter.

I'm just 24... there's a lot of time to go but I feel the need to just get my wings out and achieve something. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles two years ago with a degree in Business Administration. I spent the last 2 years in Los Angeles, New York & Dubai working with different brands, PR managements and designers. I'm so glad for the connections I made at USC which is the reason why I was able to bag the role as the creative head at Dior which otherwise would take years of experience to secure.

Well, it also has to be YouTube I remind myself. I began a YouTube Channel in sophomore year of college to just talk about fashion, lifestyle and beauty. The growth was organic and I slowly began to build my audience. Brands began to reach out to me after I hit 50K subscribers and I began to earn good money by just filming videos. I had the opportunity to collaborate with a few brands, serve as their PR on social media, I was invited to fashion shows, I began to design clothes for a few labels and before I knew it, I befriended a lot of people in the fashion industry who claim that I'm artistically gifted and have a keen eye for detail which is why I'm where I am today. I earn a lot from making videos and being a fashion influencer, more than what I'd probably earn working full-time at Christian Dior, but I think having a stable job would have more people take me seriously. I still plan on continuing what I do while managing my 9 to 5 job, it's a lot honestly but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm also a lot into investing and real estate thanks to my father. "Multiple incomes, Aki! You'll have your own design house soon!" I squeal. I hope everything works out fine.
