Chapter 5 .... Jokes &Riddles

I woke up feeling so happy until I remembered It was already Monday. I am so tired but I need to start making some cash maybe marry and go on a little vacation. I went about my morning business and decided to wear flats along with suit for the first day to know how hectic the job is.

On my way to the office I made a mental note to get coffee for my boss and a pastry as a peace offering so I can blackmail him if tries anything annoying. When I went to buy coffee and some croissant at the counter I saw a guy smiling in my direction. I turned around to know if anyone was behind me and when I saw no one I approached him and said''Please give a cup of''......oh shit what type of coffee does my boss drink. '' I'm here to buy coffee for my boss please what do you suggest''.
The guy whose nametag I just noticed happens to be Garry. "Who is your boss hot thang?" he asked with a smirk. This guy is cute plus he has killer dimples, oh God, he caught me staring and his smirk grew wider. " Since you asked for my opinion nicely I'll tell you, try black coffee it's always what they want plus as a souvenir, I'll give you my number. Call anytime, sweet thang",he winked and left to get what I ordered. I on the spot knew that I would friend zone him till I was ready for a relationship.
He comes back to me with my coffee and croissant and of course his number." Dont forget to call", then we said simultaneously " sweet thang". We laughed and I told him that I will take any chance I get to call him. As I left, I thought of 2 things. 1. Daamnnn, guys around here are really hot. Lord save my soul and 2. I've been making only male friends, scratch that, hot male friends.

When I reached my office, the first thing I was thinking of doing was to drop my boss' coffee off until I saw two riddles on a little white board hung on his door. Then it hit me but seriously, I wasn't him to be so serious about this. I only thought it was a joke.
The first riddle:At a wedding ceremony, there were people in the reception hall but there wasn't a single person. Why?
2. What goes in hard and comes out soft. You can blow me.I am a/an...
These riddles had my brain ticking but fortunately there was something like the internet so I looked it up, found the answers and wrote them down.
When I entered his office, I was more than shocked to see him in his suit with his leg crossed on his table, eyebrows furrowed as he went through his work. I coughed softly to draw his attention but none was given so I walked to his table and dropped his coffee plus my joke for the day. As I was about to leave he spoke up" Thanks for the coffee but I wanted lattè so go and get it, and by the way your jokes are too lame try to add some spice that can entertain so I'll be able to go through the day without disturbing you." I was about to speak up when he interrupted and said"buh bah bah, no talking. Less talking and more working. Oh and a good morning to you too miss Melissa" .
I smiled and left his office but God knew I wanted nothing more then to strangle him but I had to do this for the money.
On my way to buy another coffee, I saw my dad entering the company,I quickly ran past him with my head low so he couldn't seemy face and left the company. It was now I just remembered my dad was in the same city as me but he was meant to be gone by now. I hope I dont get to see him until I make some cash and how come he hasn't discovered I ran away from home? Well I guess that I'm not so important after all.

" Ah, I see you cant stay away from me sweet thang. Aren't you meant to be at work or are you already clingy before I ask you out?". Garry said trying to make a joke. I just glare at him and load all my frustration on him telling him how frustrated I was but the funny thing was at the end it was actually good. I apologised for my behaviour and he laughs and waves it off.
Okay now this guy is a new person but I know that I will cherish him because he lights up my world like the big bro I never had. I tell him lattè will be good then I shared my jokes with him( yeah, the one I gave my boss to read) and we laughed at the end.
When I was about to get up he froze and looked behind and voila, there was my boss looking at me and he was really angry but seeing the person behind me he said to me in calm voice" Come sweetheart. I've been looking for you lets go, shall we?". I was more than shocked when we reached his office the next thing that happened will forever stick to my brain. And the story goes....
