Chapter 15 ....Talk 2.

We arrived at a place I don't know cause I wasn't really paying attention to my surroundings but it looked like a nice garden the serene type. After this talk I'll ask him of the location so I can bring Mel here cause I know she'll love it. Yeah guys I love thinking ahead of time it's like a super power. So there was a seat for me to sit down. There was wine in a metal bucket filled with ice cubes then the glasses were set on a tray. Some food was set on a table that was kind of distant from our table. Ok now I've seriously got to take tips from this man on how to impress my lady.
"Audrey I know you're pretty curious now but you know the table manners right?"
I quirked an eyebrow in a manner that said I really do not know what you're saying and what that has to do with the reason I'm here.
" Table manners require that you shouldn't talk while eating. Now do you remember?" He said giving me 'that you should know this man' look.
I just gave him an eyeroll. I literally gobbled all my food down so I could finish on time then we would start with no more of his useless delays. When I was done I gave thanks to God and him for the meal then I looked him in the eye trying to make him uncomfortable so we could begin.
He chuckled and said " Impatient are we?"
When he saw I wasn't laughing along with him he sobered up and then started the story in my mind I was like finally.
Taking a deep breath he started " Now what I'm about to tell you is from my pov."
He looked at me for permission to continue, I just gave him a simple nod.

" Okay, so when she was newly born she was a beauty in my eyes. I was actually relieved she was born after two years of trial. You know not every couple is as lucky as us but people started making snide comments that she wasn't a boy so that means she wouldn't be capable of taking over my business. The fear for that being true made me to make a mistake I'll forever regret."

He took a moment to drink some water, calm down then continued.

" There was a man Mr. Alfredo actually whom owned a not so large business but he had a character that I liked and I believed his son would also inherit from him, that character was the kind of character I wanted to find in the man that would marry my daughter. I made a deal with him that I would help him to kind of take his business to the next level and make his son the heir to 30 percent of my company only if his son would marry my daughter. I had in mind to have my daughter manage the remaining part because something in me told me that what if she doesn't like the man and wants to get a divorce the company would still be as good as hers and when she finds the man she wants to marry she would transfer that percentage to him or anybody she chooses but first of all she has to be engaged to Alfredo's son for a year incase she finds the man she wants to marry before then do she'll be able to break the engagement . You may be wondering like why can't I just give her everything to handle but at times the business can be too much and you need the help of your partner, you are like the sole operator with a sidekick. Like me luckily my wife is my sidekick who also has her own little business to run. So going back to the main thing."

He looked at me again then bent his head and rubbed his forehead but he went on " You know I really trusted that man he was into the business of making stationery the stuff that people can't do without. After helping him he made a lot of money out of it. We were about to sign the document when he remembered the 30/ 70 percent issue but I didn't tell him the reason why I wanted a year's engagement. For his selfish reasons he wanted the percentage to be changed to 50/50 I thought of this situation coming up but as you know I trusted his simple behaviour. I had to start hiding my daughter away from the business world so she could have a normal life and not be kidnapped or whatever. The man was dead serious on doing whatever it takes to have a full control over my company because with that 50/50 his son could relinquish full control once they are married or worse divorce my daughter and automatically what I've worked so hard to build would be transferred to another family out of my foolishness. I also didn't like seeing her over the years because the guilt are me all over again every time I saw her so I started distancing myself from her and kept on trying to find a way out of the mess I created. My wife too her little business was  boosting so she got busier but we didn't notice the effect of our non- involvement in my daughter's life. The day she ran away I was sort of scared you know?" He laughed a humorless laughter.
"I thought she had been discovered before I could save her and I was also the reason why she ran straight into the hands of my enemy. Luckily I always had to track her incase of this type of incidence and I found her location cause I kept tabs on her and figured out she was about to take a job at your office so I had to come down here and hope in the run she would find a business mogul she would fall in love with that would help her take over my business. You might be thinking why I made the same mistake but I knew you had fallen for her too but my thoughts changed when you took the cash. I gave you a few days to call me and you did  so now here we are. I hope you can find a way to run my daughter back so she can marry you because the engagement has already started like 3 months ago so hopefully for me within 6 months or less you both are married with a kid or two or as you want I don't know".
