Chapter 14 .... Talk

  On Saturday morning I woke up on time and decided to make a visit to the church for a morning mass. Before you ask yes I'm religious but it's just the time to attend when I'm all busy, I feel guilty at times when I forget to pray.

My mom raised me up to always put God first as I grow no matter what and if I have anyone or anything trying to detach me from him that I should cut it off.

From my life I guess I didn't heed to the last part but before every deal or conference I always remember Him and I'm so lucky that despite my omissions He still answers me. So after the Holy mass I decided to just stay after and have a little quiet time hoping that some solutions to my problems will be found.

After what seemed like thirty minutes I stood and left feeling all calm and a little bit energetic for the day. I took a walk around the neighborhood and stopped by at some points looking at little shops where they sell stuff for tourists and the rest.

Something made me to walk further from the neighborhood, what I saw touched me. Some kids loitering around the streets probably for some personal reasons. How I never noticed them I do not know but it was kind of touching I made a mental note to visit here some time.

On my way home I stopped at a bakery where I saw quite a number of customers with the intention of asking the owner where I could get good baking stuff. I saw an aged lady behind the counter and I decided to made a conversation with her plus she looked kind of nice.

" Good morning ma'am. How is your day going so far?"

I felt awkward when I didn't get any reply plus I had a smile pasted on my face. You know how awkward those moments are. Luckily one of those working for her, a young pretty lady I must say came over to me and said
" Can you give Therese a minute. She uses hearing aids and at times she forgets to turn it up ok? By the way I'm Julian and you are?"
"Dre... Sorry I meant Audrey"
"Ok Audrey" she turned back to Therese the old woman and tapped her gently giving her a sign to turn up her aid. The woman smiled and nodded then she finally noticed me. I greeted her again and this she replied
" Oh my wonderful boy I'm doing really great. I can see you have met my daughter now how can I be of help to you?"
"Ma'am .." she cut me off " Call me Therese son" then she urged me to continue "Yes? As you were saying boy"
"Therese please I want to bake can you please recommend a store to me where I can get some baking stuff?"
"Of course my boy check out Joann Fabric and Crafts it not too far from here"
" Thank you so much Therese for your kindness"
"Oh don't mention it and you're welcome back to this place whenever you want ok child"
With a final polite smile and nod towards her and her daughter o left for the bakery stuff selling shop. That was so funny in my head but I guess I'll have to walk a bit longer and surprisingly I wasn't tired yet.
When I opened the door I saw the girl that has got my heart racing for some time now smiling at the guy at the check out section who was checking out more than the stuff she was buying so openly. I hope I'll be on time to make her fall for me before someone who won't sell her would do that before I could. That joke was so dry to me so I chuckled dryly.

When I looked up she was already on her way out, with less enthusiasm I picked the stuff I needed and trekked back home. I was just wondering in my mind what was she doing at a bakery shop, does she have an affinity for baked stuff. This made me to work harder at getting the recipe for basic cake first from there I hope I would improve to making more complex stuff so when I get her back I would impress her with my skills.

In the evening I was exhausted but I was happy at the cake I made, it wasn't bad neither was it that good but I enjoyed eating it cause it was better than I expected, I set the leftover aside in a take out plate and left it on the counter.

I was about to settle down on my couch in my study for a little while before I start some work when my phone rang I checked it and I saw it was a call from Mr. Chesterfield.

What did he want now I questioned myself, I picked up the call and to hear the reason why he was calling me at this time.
"Hello Mr. Chesterfield"
" Yes hello to you too Audrey"
" How may I help you Mr. Chesterfield and why are you calling me at this time I thought we had a deal that you will give the paper to your lawyer for me to sign it"

"One question at a time and I changed my mind, please can you come down to the lounge of your building it's very urgent."
I was quite curious so I cut the call, took a quick shower, wore some fresh clothes grabbed a piece of cake and popped it into my mouth then I went down to the lounge.

As soon as I stepped out one of his men took me to his car,  the one he was driving by himself for the day while his escorts were in another car. The perks of being freaking rich.

When I entered the passengers side of his car I didn't bother looking at him even though I know I was partially at fault he was still the devil that tempted me and made me to lose his daughter. I had so many questions going on in my head but first I had to hear him speak. We sat in silence for a few minutes before he finally spoke.

" Audrey I'm not usually one who bothers with pleasantries but hey I've got to say it's quite a beautiful day but I'm not gonna spill anything here. How about I treat you like a lady and you and me both will go for a little picnic huh?" He said now looking at me.

" Sorry to disappoint Yvonne but I don't swing that way as you can see I have my eyes on your lovely daughter. Wait don't say you pulled that stunt to make me yours. That's so disgusting man."

Mr. Chesterfield chuckled and said " I'm so glad that even in a serious situation you can still maintain your sense of humor but I have a wife whom I love in every single way if you know what I mean." He said smirking in a mischievous way.

Oh I know what you mean man and that's  what I'm meant to be doing with your daughter right now I thought angrily in my head.

I'm still not looking at him guys just my side eye doing is thing I swear so don't ask me how I know how he was smiling.

"However" he continued "what I want to discuss with you is something very serious and whether you like it or not we are going to sit down and have this discussion my way cause the talk has a few answers to your questions. Now take this hat and shades put it on let's go"
I looked at him inquisitively and put on the disguise. If this will help me get Melissa back then no problem. I guess it time for a date with my love's father.

So I guess it's time for us to figure out what the talk will be about. I'll release that chapter by Wednesday or Tuesday if I'll be able to finish writing it on time. This book is taking a huge turn but I'm excited to see how it goes. Someone requested for the answers to the riddles but that's the fun of it for you to find out, anyways the answer will be released in the next chapter. Till next chapter, see ya😁☺️😝
