Chapter 9 .... Visit

Visit: an act of going to see someone as a guest or tourist.

I woke up around 4.30 in the morning and started to get ready for work and by the time I was done it was already like 7.45.

I'm that slow in preparing because of too many distractions like my Instagram account, face book and so on.

I'm that pretty but I try not to get it to my my for I learnt that lesson the hard way and it was through a hot stranger.

It was a hot afternoon and because my nails got a little bit broken mistakenly by a passer- by cause he hit me with force while running to his destination, I dragged him back and started insulting him with my fake friends supporting me until the stranger showed up and talked sense into me.

That was a huge life lesson that I'll never forget because it was too embarrassing. If you want to know what happened to my so called friends, I'll bring that up later.

When I reached my work place, I figured out that my boss wasn't around. I waited for 2 good hours then I left in anger because the one day I finally decided to get up and impress my boss I was disappointed.

I bought some breakfast and buckets of ice-cream with some snacks on my way home.

I devoured my food cause I was seriously hungry. I was in the middle of the movie ''Five Feet Apart'' and I was crying like crazy.

When I opened the door I was shocked at whom I saw.

''Hey Mel, long time no see''.My friend Tera from Nigeria greeted.

''Not to sound rude T, but how did you know that I live here now cause I never told anyone about my new location except Adrien''.

''You know that time I came to house and told you that I suspected that you were gonna move away but you shrugged it off and said that it was Nigeria voodoo'', I nodded and she continued'' when I sit down I'll continue''.

She came inside and sat down and continued ''Okay when you went to pee, I planted some bug in the necklace Adrien gave you as a friendship necklace knowing that you'll take it anywhere you go no matter what and I stand correct. I wanted to visit you so I tracked you down with my phone and I'm here now'' but she ended it with jazz hands.

Okay now, let me tell you the story of how I met Tera. There was once a time I got a job behind the back of my parents at a restaurant and if you think they found out, that's a huge lie.

They didn't even know the time I get back home. So back to my story. I met Tera at the restauranr. She is more of a traveller and her parents are really rich so they supported her with their money.

She has three little siblings and they're all boys and their really lucky that they have their parents attention, an opportunity I'll kill for.

She likes going from country to country working at different restaurants and she brings new ideas to the restaurants she goes to buy she never stays for a long time and when she tries to resign, the manager of the restaurant will even pay her in advance.

Don't think she's the kind to refuse 'cause she is not coming back, she is a bad ass so she carries all the money and then leaves and never returns.

While she stayed in Pennsylvania working at a restaurant near mine( I begged the manager not to make it official I worked here because if they found out I wouldn't work there again that's the reason why my boss said I had no job experience) we met one day when we were on break and from then on we became friends.
She's really cool and she tells me funny stories about Nigeria, at times she teaches me her dialect and makes me to try wierd food from her country.

''Mel, you know that I travel a lot so I qant to let you know that I have a night flight Spain. But you know the usual I'll give you a food to taste and today is the famous dried cassava known as Garri in Nigeria. We are gonna soak it with loads of sugar, milk and groundnut and trust me you're gonna love it''.

After drinking that, I ran ti the toilet and shat my guts out. It was horrible and my tummy hurts like crazy but I've git to admit it was kinda sweet.

I ordered pizza but unluckly for me it wasn't Angel, we ate it with Oroes smashed in a bucket of vanilla ice-cream and completed 'Five Feet Apart' together and we cried like there was no tomorrow.

''It's time for my night flight Mel, and before I go lemme collect ya number don't wanna miss talking to you anymore''.

When she was done, I called a taxi to drive us to the airport and I've pot to say, I'm really gonna miss her because she made my day.

I reached home and saw an angry boss on my couch.

''I told you to come to the office today so we could complete a set of work. Don't give me that face.. ''

''I came you knoe, I waited for 2 good hours but you never showed up so I decided to go hone thinking that you had some important work to do'' I lashed out before he could finish his previous statement.

I am really angry now. I mean who does he think he is shouting at me when be was the one at fault.

''Melanie..''

''It's Melissa, Audrey''.

'''Whatever, did you care to check if I was in my office ''he said looking more than angry.

I just realised my mistake 'cause I thought I came earlier than him. With the look on my face he knew my answer.

''I thought so and no need for your petty apology. You're gonna do the work and you better make it done by tomorrow morning. You're lucky today is not a working day so no riddles for you''.

I was at the edge of crying 'cause I'm too emotional and I wasn't used to anyone shouting at me and then he did the unexpected.

He hugged me and pecked my head and apologised very very quietly and immediately he turned and left.

I'm still shocked but blushing. Why not? You already know that I'm crushing on him.

I went to bed with a smile on my face knowing he had a little soft side when it comes to me.
