The boy wanted change. Change in the world. In his world. So he joined the Black Swan, he completed their oath, he became their most valuable, young member.

"I want to be the Moonlark." He declared

"The Moonlark has already been placed in the Forbidden Cities," Mr. Forkle told the boy.

"Then I can be the Moonlark here, in the lost cities,"

Mr. Forkle sighed, "You don't need to be the Moonlark to be important,"

One morning, the boy light leaped into the base, making Mr. Forkle jump and scatter his papers.

The boy frowned at him, the crease between his brow indicating something not good had happened. "They tried to recruit me,"

The silence that filled the room was suffocating. Mr. Forkle knew who the boy was talking about. "You will not make anymore interaction with them,"

"But, I can't just sit here and let them hurt people!"

"I said you will not-"

"I can be a double agent!" The boy exclaimed.

"You know how badly that ended last time."

"I can do better than her,"

"I have no doubt you can,"

"Then let. Me. Go."

"It'll be hard. You'll have to do things that may very well shatter your sanity."

"I know what I'm doing,"

They boy continued double crossing the Rebels for years. He eventually became a member of the collective, and taught the Moonlark and her friends.

Until one day his family found out, that he was with the Neverseen. He couldn't tell them though: That he was a double agent. His family was heart broken.

And so the Moonlark, her friends, all of the Lost cities, knew he was a traitor. They knew he was working with the Neverseen now. But they didn't know he was double-crossing them. The boy planned to keep it that way.

He made small changes to the Neverseen's ways. Suggesting less hostile tactics, making some of their plans purposely fail. He even distracted Brant so the Endal child could get away.

"It's getting worse," The boy told Mr. Forkle.

"You can stop whenever you'd like,"

"No, there's too much at stake. The Neverseen doesn't have a telepath right now, but I have no doubt they will soon,"

But one little slip up: and he was done for. It was too late then. He was discovered by the Neverseen.

The boy woke from his slumber, all tied up and his mind unusually empty. They told him stories, stories he should have been familiar with. Then they told him his name.

He gave the strangers a puzzled look, "Who's Alvar?"

It had been too late to save him.

Yeah Alvar's evil. But what if he wasn't......
