It had been weeks since the shooting, and I was trying my best to work my way back to normal. I spent a bunch of times with my friends, Tom included. It was a good thing though, they all got along great. They always knew how to make me laugh. This was a good thing though, it helped distract me.

As for my Step-Mother, she provided me with lots of distractions. She'd constantly sent me to run errands for her, and I never even got a thank you. Both her, and my step-sisters treated me much more like a servant than family. It was like I was Cinderella.

It did fit my circumstances though, as I checked off a list in my head.

Three talking best friends - check. A shitty step mother, and step-sisters-check. No parents-check.

I laughed. I considered that as a joke, but the sad thing was that it was somewhat true.

"Y/N, get in here!" Lady Helga shouted. "Hurry up girl, we haven't got all day!"

After rolling my eyes, and praying to God she falls in a ditch, I reluctantly obeyed. Lady Helga, currently was in her room, with my step sisters. They were looking at dress options. No doubt this was for the Queen's garden party today.

Several princesses across the country were invited to this occasion, as well as princes. One lucky pro is that I did get Queen Nikki to invite my three best friends. They weren't royalty, but they were the closest to family I had left.

"What do you need?" I sighed.

"None of these are suitable for today's outing. I need you to run to the Ralph Lauren shop in town and buy three new dresses. We will need a size two, four, and twelve." She stated.

"You're serious?" I scoffed. "There are hundreds of dresses on this bed, why don't you wear one of these and save my father's money."

"Darling, do as I say. These may work for you, but they aren't good enough for us."

"I'm surprised you trust me." I chuckled.

"Oh dear, I don't. You'll need to talk to the clerk about which ones are the latest style." Lady Helga said abruptly. Not a moment later, they all scattered out of the room. "You have until 1 o'clock. That green dress on the bed is what you can wear."

I turned to look at the most hideous dress I've ever laid eyes on. Did she think I was a child? This dress only looked suitable for a four year old and I wouldn't even put a kid in it. It was a forest green color, with lace on the bodice. I didn't think the color was bad, but the collar was horrendous.
