Movie NightThe next morning I awoke to the birds chirping from the trees, and the gust of wind coming through the window. This often would make me chilly, but what I realized was that I didn't feel cold. Instead I felt warm, radiating from my back, as I could feel a strong pair of arms around my waist. This made me feel more at home then I have ever been, like I actually belonged somewhere. I had thought of getting up until I realized what happened last night, I was in Tom's bed. SHIT! HE CROSSED OVER MY SIDE!
If I were to be completely honest with myself I actually liked it, but I was stubborn and that would be the last thing I'd admit. I couldn't be like this with my BEST FRIEND. It's one thing to be close friends, but there is something called boundaries. I definitely believed we crossed the line on this one. I was so embarrassed, and with all the strength I could muster I tried to wiggle out of his grip. I failed miserably. When I tried to move his arm, it wouldn't budge- instead it only clenched and held onto me tighter. This was a very awkward situation for me, especially with the thoughts I was having. Like the smell of his hair, which made be swoon. His face which even looked more beautiful than I had realized as the sun shined across his features. Perhaps it was how I looked at his muscular arms, his veins practically popping out is what scared me the most. I liked his strength, it made me feel safe. I was scared shitless to say the least.
After several more attempts, I pulled my legs up to assist prying him off of me. When I finally succeeded, I rebuilt the pillow barrier to prevent suspicion on my or his part. Tom looked at peace. I wanted to hug him, and run my hands through his curls. No doubt by this time my face had went from light red to the shade of Rudolph's nose.
As I heard him stirring from his slumber, I quickly turned around and pretended I was still asleep. A yawn echoed through the air, and I had tried to hold it in but they are practically contagious. I yawned."Oh you're up then?" He asked, with a bright smile on his face as you turned around to face him. Tom's accent clearly was a little raspy in the morning, but to me it was perfect.
"Uh, yeah. What time is it?" I replied, trying to avoid him in general.
"10'o clock." Tom yawned.
"SHIT!" I exclaimed. "I was told to be ready by ten. They'll flip out if they find out."
"Who?"
"Hailey, and my step-mother." I sighed. "They wanted me to go with them to renew Hailey's closet- which in translation means I do all the work for them"
"Then don't go."
"Don't go?" I scoffed. "Then expect me dead by noon."
"I'll cover for you. I can say I asked you and the boys to watch movies with us all day."
"How is that going to work?"
"I text them, and they'll go along with it." He shrugged.
"Ugh." I sighed. "If I get killed for this it's on you."
A couple hours later, I was sitting in the boys 'game' room with Tom, his brothers, and Harrison. After blowing off my step-mother, I know I would get in big trouble, but right now I didn't seem to care. All of us were sitting around the TV, laughing and loving the moment. The boys let me pick a movie, which despite their assumptions, they were pretty surprised when I picked 'Tropic Thunder'.
As the movie began, all of us were cackling so hard we could choke very easily, yet none of us seemed to care. Several quotes went around the room like Tom quoting the line "I'm a trained actor motherfucker." It was all fun and games right?About halfway through the movie, we paused it to get some snacks. I volunteered to grab the drinks, while Tom's brother Sam went to go make some popcorn. When I got back, I passed the drinks around. Then I heard Harrison speak.
"It's so fucking cold in here." He stated.
"It may be that way for you but I'm burning up. I'm like a human heater over her." I replied.
"Human heater? Come on over here then, it'd be nice to share you know!"
I knew he was half joking but I scooted close to Harrison on the couch, not too close to make it awkward but obviously Tom had a different idea. Harrison seemed to get the memo, as Tom sent him a death look, and he laughed it off.
"I think Tom though is pretty cold over here, why don't you go to him now." Harrison said as he winked in his direction.
"Yeah, I bet he does." Harry cackled
Despite their teasing, I moved over to Tom anyway, which he accepted my presence quite quickly. He responded by putting his arms around me and pulling me closer to him. I was so close to him, I could hear his heartbeat, and I can't deny that I loved it. I was so comfortable with Tom. I honestly don't know what's happening to me, or why everything is changing so fast.
We stayed like that for the whole movie, not letting go once. After it was over, I got up to go to the bathroom. I still could hear their voices from the outside."So are you and Y/N a thing now?" Sam asked.
"No." Tom replied, quick to shut it down. It was almost as if he was trying to cover something up. "We're just friends."
"JUST friends. So you're someone who likes to hold onto your friends for dear life?" Harrison laughed.
"I was just cold." He said.
"Bullshit." Harry swore from the far-side of the room. I could barely hear him.
"Oh boy! Maybe if I'm lucky next time Tom will cuddle with me like that." Harrison teased with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Oh fuck off." Tom mumbled.
I couldn't believe my ears. Does Tom like me, or am I interpreting it wrong? One question that kept running through my head was 'Did I like him too?'
