Ch 17: Avoidance

Tonight Liu Xun had a dreamless sleep even if he was sleeping in a new environment.

Meanwhile, Wan Yu on the other hand had his eyes wide-opened even after all that walking for almost a whole day.

His eyebrows were drawn together as his right hand went to place on top of his left chest.

A moment ago, his heartbeat was a bit erratic and he had an illusion that it was hard to breathe for a moment there.

However, he knew he was not sick.

His eyes unconsciously drifted to the person who was soundly sleeping beside him. However, the moment he saw that the youth was actually lying sideways with his face facing his direction he was a bit startled and immediately averted his eyes in a panic to stare at the ceiling.

Then after realizing his own foolish reaction Wan Yu's lips slightly pursed in frustration.

What is Xiao Xu to him?

In the beginning, Wan Yu thought that his second life would be full of hatred and vengeance. Those who helped in the past he would repay them, those who hurt him in the past he would make them pay with their lives.

However, Xiao Xu belonged to neither of them.

Wan Yu seemed to be able to guess the answer but he dared not to.

He quietly lied sideways showing his back toward the youth before closing his eyes intending to sleep.

Seems like I am too tired to overthink things.

What a ridiculous conclusion I arrived at.

Morning arrived and all of them went downstairs to have breakfast before departing.

Liu Xun wiped the chopsticks before giving them to the little boy. The latter reached out to take them but unintentionally, their fingertips touched, and almost immediately, Wan Yu instantly flung his hand looking like he was electrocuted.

His weird reaction caused everyone to turn their eyes to him especially Liu Xun who was the most surprised at his weird behavior.

He worriedly asked,"What's wrong?"

Knowing that he was a bit too much, Wan Yu lightly cleared his throat as he took that pair of chopsticks into his hand,"Nothing."

Hearing this, Liu Xun could only blink his eyes in confusion before reluctantly eating his breakfast.

Ji Yan who had just eaten a bite uttered in surprise,"Is it just me or what that the food is rather bland?"

Su Ze who was calmly picking another slice of beef into his bowl lightly said,"No it's not your fault. Our tastebuds have been ruined by him."

He soon lifted his eyes to stare at Liu Xun who was innocently eating his food.

Being stared at by him Liu Xun briefly paused before calmly raising an eyebrow,"You want me to stop cooking?"

Hearing his words, both Su Ze and Ji Yan paused. Knowing that Su Ze wouldn't say a single word Ji Yan took the responsibility to do the flattery work.
