CHAPTER SEVEN

I tried to run, but he caught my sleeve… “Where are you going Julie?” He smirked, but it was evil! Let me go I demanded. Nothing happened… He threw me across the hall and I hit the wall on the other side of the lockers, I made a dent in the wall… Well, that could've been a lot worse.

Colton ran up the hall and saw Jason about to punch me, he grabbed Jason by the collar and chucked him out the window. He came over to me and sat down. “Are you okay? You hit your head pretty hard, maybe I should walk you home.” I need to get my sister though. “I'll take care of it, just come on.” Colton walked over to Jason's bag to see if my journal was in there, he didn't see a journal, but he did see a combination for a locker… It seemed to be a joke… The numbers on the back of the combination said, “666”. Colton why does it say that? He looked up at the lockers and looked at mine, 656, then he looked over one, 666.

He reached for the lock and put in the numbers. The locker opened and we both jumped back as bats flew out of the tiny space. Colton searched the locker, but came to realize, it was a black hole, there was no bottom to the locker it was just a deep dark hole. He started to rip the locker apart, soon it just caved in and made an even bigger hole that was sucking everything in. My locker was leaning over looking like it was about to give up and fall in. I didn't really care much for anything in it besides my drawings and lyrics, but I have them in my jour—cuts self-off--- Oh wait, I don't have my journal.

Colton looks over at me and says, “We better get your sister and take her home, we'll come back and check this out later.” I agreed and made my way to the exit.

Colton? Where is everybody? We walked out into the parking lot of the school to find no cars, no people, nothing. It was quiet. Almost too quiet. He looked at me while his eyes change to a gorgeous light blue, “Juliette, Everyone is gone.” We ran up the side walk to the elementary, but something strange is going on… The building was empty, so was the parking lot. What happened? I asked. “I-I don't know. Wait… The locker, it must've sent us through a portal, we went to a whole other universe Jules!” Colton, calm down okay? We'll find a way out. Let's just go back to the school and see if the portal is still open.

As Colton and I were walking back to the High School, we heard a growl, but tried not to phase. We walked a little faster, and faster, and faster… Then a black wolf appeared in front of us. It had a thick black coat, pointy teeth, and dark blue eyes. The wolf came closer, but we stood still. After it smelt us we tried to get away, but it growled, and then howled. *Thinks to self: Oh how great we're gonna get eaten by a Wolf Pac, that’s just amazing.*

Colton, what do we do? I mentally said using Vampire senses. “Just stay calm and follow them.” He replied. They led us into a small part of the woods, to their little wolf den I guess. They had something shining in a fire pit. I looked at what it was… The blue stripes and Gold chain of my journal. MY JOURNAL! I blurted out. The wolves looked at me and growled, I stepped back and felt Colton's arms around my waist, “It's alright.” He whispered. I took a deep breath, and knelt down to the pit, I looked up to the wolf that must've been the leader and gave him a stare, He stepped forward and I brought my hand to his nose, he faced the pit and gave me permission to take the journal. I stood up with the book in my hands and smiled. Colton took one of my hands and said, “Let's find a way out of here.”

We got back to the high school, and looked for the locker, but there were no lockers in the building. Colton and I started to panic so we ran to each classroom to see if there were desks and stuff, but nothing was found. What do we do now? Colton just stared and shrugged his shoulders. I went outside while Colton looked around the school. I walked up and down the sidewalk, but no sign of anything. After about ten minutes, the black wolf came back, but this time it shifted into a teenage boy, maybe about fifteen. “You look lost,” He said. Well unfortunately we're stuck here. Do you know how to get out? He frowned and said, “You have to wait until the next full moon.” I looked up at the sky and it was getting dark, but the moon wasn't full… “The full moon is Sunday.” *Thinks to self: Great, we're gonna end up dying.* Okay so we have to stay here until Sunday?! He nodded. I turned around and walked back into the school and hollered for Colton.

“Jules, what's wrong?” I looked Colton in the eyes, we have to wait until Sunday to go home… I saw the glow in his eyes fade away and they turned to a dark blue. “At least we got your journal back.” He said. I nodded and went to the cafeteria to see if there was any food, but there was none. Colton suggested that we go downtown to find food, so we walked out into the streets and into town.

Colton laughed and said, “Hey look!” Pointing at an old restaurant with Santa Claus on the window, it looked like an ancient Santa if you ask me. We went in and found food in the back, so we got the frozen goods and started cooking. I made cupcakes, while Colton made tacos. We sat down to eat the tacos as the cupcakes cooked a little longer; “So Julie, what's in your journal?” I gave Colton a long stare, I thought my eyes were gonna pop out of my head, umm nothing, just… stuff, I stuttered. He smirked, “Just, stuff?” *Thinks to self: Why does he have to be so darn cute!* I sighed and handed it to him, DO NOT TELL ANYBODY! His eyes widened and he nodded. Colton opened the shiny book and started reading:

 August 10th 2011,

Well, it's been exactly a month since she's been diagnosed. I can't believe I’m really writing, but I guess it's a good time to… Mom hasn't been doing so good and I'm worried about her. If I lose my mom, I’ll probably go live with Grandma, this isn't exactly the way I wanted my sister to grow up, but it's the best I've got for her. Daddy has been really distant lately, I hope he's not drinking again… Anyways I'm really hoping mom will be cured soon.

August 29th 2011,

Mom looks good! She's so beautiful, even when she's going through chemo, she's still so gorgeous. Dad hasn't been home in a few weeks, but maybe he'll come back and see mom is amazing.

September 15th 2011,

Well, it's my birthday… Mom passed this morning. This is the best birthday ever (sarcasm). My mom died September 15th 2011, my fifteenth birthday. Dad is somewhere taking pills and smoking, so it's just my sister and me.

June 6th 2013,

Falling back into the past, I'm diving in too deep. The sky is clear, but the water is not, I can't see so I’ll just let the wave take its course. Drowning is what I'm doing, but it's too late to pull away now, It's getting hard to breathe, It's just time to let go…

Colton closed the journal and looked at me with a tear strolling down his face, “I can't read anymore, He said, I'll end up crying, but you are a strong person, you know that? You really are.” I smiled at the ground and said thanks. He tilted my head up to where our eyes met. I looked at him as a tear fell down my cheek, he wiped the tear and pulled me into a hug. I feel so safe in his arms and he's so protective of me, Maybe I am falling for him.
