CHAPTER NINE
I woke up during the night freezing cold! The last thing I remember is falling asleep in Colton's arms, but now he's not here. I went downstairs and found him in the kitchen drinking to keep him awake. What are you doing? I asked while rubbing my eyes. He turned around while taking a big gulp and made a head gesture toward the glass. I went to the fridge and grabbed a wine bottle, I poured some into a wine glass and sat on the couch in the living room. Colton came in and sat next to me, only three inches away. I laid my head on his shoulder, while he put his arm around me. I sipped a little at a time so I could lay here longer, I just love the feeling I have when I'm with him.
We just sat there for about an hour until I finally fell asleep again.

Colton's POV (point of view)
Julie laid her head on my shoulder and I didn't know what to do so I just put my arm around her. I could feel the pain she had in her heart, like she was actually breaking, then I felt a tear drop onto my leg. I leaned down to her and kissed her forehead, then I realized she fell asleep while crying… That's so upsetting. I just let her stay there, I didn't move or anything.
After about an hour of sitting there I started to doze off, until I heard something. Jules jumped, “What the hell.” I lifted her up so I could go check it out. “So you're gonna leave me?” She got up and walked with me. I took her hand and led her across the kitchen to the back door. “What is it?” She whispered. I looked outside and couldn't believe my eyes. It was Jason.

Juliette go! She ran into the living room and stayed there. I tried to find something sharp to protect us, but I couldn't find anything. He busted the door open and said, “Where is she!” His eyes were solid black, of course. I rolled my eyes and slung him across the room. I'm much stronger than him, but he doesn't realize it. He stood up and tried to smell her scent… “I know she's here. I can smell it, that sweet vanilla scent she wears.” He knew Jules was here. He rushed into the living room and threw her into the wall making a hole. That right there made me tense up, I could feel my eyes change, probably a reddish color. I took him by the neck and slashed his head against a nail in the wall… Yeah, he won't be awake anytime soon, I took his Immortality ring so he wouldn't be able to survive. In other words, I killed him. I thought to myself: That was too easy.
I saw a light glow across town, it must've been the portal. Jules! Julie!? I ran toward her she was trying to get up, but there was a wall on top of her. I lifted the wood and took her by the hand. She was scared, I could feel it. Her eyes grew when she saw the glowing light. “Is that the portal?” I nodded. “Well let's go!” Julie wait… I find this way too easy. She nodded, but made her way to the door and out into the street. Juliette!
She was gone.
