This has definitely been a surprising night. Everything was going well and then, bomb after bomb was dropped on us. That bitch's ass is on my radar, I will get her for this. With that thought in mind, I let go of Laya and turned back to where Graves was still sitting.
"Where are you going?" my sister asked.
"To take care of something." I said.
"Bry, let it go for now." Colby pleaded.
"Oh no, that bitch will get what's coming to her. Over-possessive, egotistical, selfish brat!" I growled, stalking over to Graves.
"You already told me to leave, I just wanted to say goodbye to your parents." he said.
"You are just as bad as she is." I said.
"What she does is none of my business. I don't get involved in her life and she doesn't get involved with mine. It's the way our friendship works."
"I don't care about your friendship with her. I am going to get back at her for being the hypocritical bitch that she is. The only reason I came back was to tell you not to warn her. Do not tell her that we know the truth, it's the least you can do."
"Bryelle, please, let me . . ."
"Nothing. There's nothing you can say to make this better, Graves. You knew the entire time and . . . you knew what Becks did to get back at them. You knew and you didn't say anything, that makes you . . ."
"She was the only friend I had damn it!" he growled.
"What?"
"After the divorce ended, things between Amy and I got really bad and a lot of people sided with her. She knows how to play the victim even though she had been cheating on me for over a year before I found out. She used my being gone as the excuse and everyone fell for it."
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked, feeling slightly bad for him but I'm not willing to admit it.
"Becky was the only person, Becky, and Tom, they knew the truth. They stood by me when I needed someone there. My ex-wife turned my entire family against me for a short time and wouldn't let me see my kids. My parents thought I was a good for nothing man who didn't care about my family and her family saw me as the demon bastard spawn from hell. I owe Becky my sanity in large part because I was in a very bad, very dark place."
"I don't care." I said, but that isn't entirely true.
"I know you don't, I just figured that you should know since you're gonna think so negatively of me." he sighed, getting up off of the bar stool.
"Don't tell her."
"I won't . . . I'm sorry, Bryelle."
"You know what, I am too." I said, walking away from him.
As I made my way back to my friends I saw my parents start to walk over to us and I glued my fakest smile on, thanking the heaven's I took acting classes in school and when I started with the company.
"Kids, what's going on? Why is everyone in a corner?" Momma asked as I walked up.
"Just trying to figure out what's the bigger surprise for next year." I said, covering everyone's ass since they're all so distracted.
"What? All of this is more than enough, we'll be planning that cruise in the next few weeks. I can't wait to get out." she said with a big smile.
"You just enjoy it, enjoy all of it, and send us lots of photos." Colby said, hopping on my phony bandwagon.
"You can bet that I will, now I just have to make sure that they pack everything. Which just means I'll end up packing for all three of us. If it's up to me I'll be gone by next week." she told us. "The only thing is that by the time we get back, you'll be gone my gypsy 1."
