I knew that there was something more bothering her and so did Colby. It was obvious because Laya has the strongest stomach of anyone that I know, especially with her traveling to whatever country tickles her fancy, she eats weird things. I decided not to dwell on it because it's also obvious that she didn't want to talk about it.

"So he kissed you?" she asked as we left the bathroom.

"He kissed me and I responded in kind." I told her over the loud music.

"How did it feel?"

"Bad, confusing . . . really good." I said, noticing the unamused look on her face.

"That's more like it, I like him." she reiterated.

"I think I like him too."

"You know you do."

"You know you do what? You wanna tell me what that was all about?" Jon asked.

"Well dad, when a guy really likes a girl, he tries to shoot his shot and puckers his lips up and . . ."

"I don't need the logistics kid, I've got a wife. What was that about Graves putting his nasty lips on yours?" he insisted.

"How would you know whether they were nasty? Is there something you wanna share with the class?" I asked him.

"You know what I mean damn it." he growled.

"He shot his shot dad and I responded to it. I'm not entirely sure why, but I did. What seems to be the problem?"

"I don't know how I feel about that." he said.

"We're in the same boat there, daddy-o cause neither do I." I said, walking away from them.

Laya followed me with a smile on her face but I could tell that it wasn't an honest one at all. Colby did too and for the rest of the night he tried to talk to her but she avoided him, sticking to me like glue which I didn't mind at all. Having her by my side was a distraction and it kept Matt away from me.

I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to him. I've got this internal battle going on and it's messing with my emotions in a bad way. He messes me up and I dislike him for it but at the same time, he's making me see and feel things a different way. It's very frustrating, Laya and I seem to be in very similar boats and neither of us knows how to deal with it.

"You wanna leave?" I asked her.

"This was your night to celebrate and . . ."

"Do you want to leave?"

"I do, but you don't have to leave. I can get a taxi and you drive home when you're . . . "

"Let's go say bye to everyone, we've had as eventful of a night as we could have. I wanna go home too." I told her.

"Are you sure?" she asked, looking over my shoulder.

Matt was leaning against a wall talking to Colby and Joe while Jon glared at him. His eyes were on me though and it made me feel like we were the only two in the room. We made our way over to the group to say our goodbyes and left before Colby or Matt could get any ideas.

"What are we doing here?" I asked my cousin.

"Driving home you dumbass." she replied.

"You're such a bitch, I mean with the guys. What are we doing?"

"I honestly don't know, Bry, I have no fucking idea."

"You gonna tell me what really happened?" I asked.
