•Poppy's POV• {this is a few days after the whole 'deal' thing}

I wake up to the whole gang gone. I pick up the already read newspaper and see the main headline.

'Three boys go from delinquents to heroes, saving children in a church fire.'

I look at the paper and read the article over and over again, trying to process this in my mind.

'Ponyboy Curtis, Dallas Winston, and Johnny Cade saved multiple children during a church fire this afternoon. Curtis made it out with non-life threatening injuries, but Winston and Cade are seriously hurt.'
I reread the rest of the article, and throw the paper at the wall.

The last thing Johnny said to me what that he didn't want to see me again.

I quickly put on shoes, a sweatshirt, and some jeans and run towards the hospital.
***************
I run into the hospital and I go up to the lady at the front desk.
"I need to see Johnny Cade. I need to see him." I say in a panicked voice.
"Relation to the patient?" She says in a calm voice.
"I'm his sister. Please let me see him." I say. She points me towards his room and I run towards him. He's in a cot with a bandage around his entire back.
"Johnny?" I whisper.
"Poppy? I'm so sorry. I didn't mean what I said. I love you so much, and Ponyboy is a good boy. Please don't hate me. You can be with him." He says, but the sentence was too much for him so he just laid down and took some deep breaths. We made up and talked and laughed for a while. Then I saw Ponyboy enter the room. He was filthy, but I ran up and hugged him anyways. I want to be in his arms forever.
