I was walking side by side with Chris as we walked to the Hacate cabin. It looked dark. Mist was around the cabin and twin reed torches on the door. I walked in and I saw some kids doing magic, others making potions, and some practicing with some skeleton rats. Chris thought it was all cool. I on the other hand thought it was pretty scary. I was greeted by the head counselor, Lou Ellen.
"Hiya! Welcome to your new home! I'm Lou Ellen, you're new sister. You can take that bed." She pointed at a bed on the far end. "There are some clothes there and your first class in in about 10 minutes." Then she walked off to practice some magic. I walked up to the bed. Put my bag down and picked up a shirt. I quickly changed my shirt in the bathroom and kept my cardigan on. I put on some blue flats that my mom had packed and walked out of the door with Chris.
"You're cabin is cool Janet." He said as he ran ahead of me.
"It is isn't it? I'm just sad that I won't get to be cabin mates with you." I said as I ran up to catch him. We were heading to sword fighting class. Our first lesson. When we got there Chris ran to a guy. He looked older than both of us. The guy hugged Chris and carried him up to his shoulders.
"Ready for your first lesson Chris?" The guy asked. He had black short hair with icy-blue eyes. His skin was white with a tint of blue. He looked pretty toned and he was wearing some blue shorts, a camp shirt, and black boat shoes. He looked up at Janet. For a moment it seemed like time stopped. Janet felt like she had gone to heaven and brought back an angel. 'Gods he's beautiful' The guy put Chris down from his shoulders and walked up to Janet without breaking eye contact.
"Hi. I'm Jay, son of Khione." Jay said as he extended his hand. I shyly took his hand.
"Hi. I'm Janet, daughter of Hacate." Jay leaned in and kissed my hand.
"Well, Janet, care to get this lesson started?" Jay said and he pulled me towards the arena. All I could do was smile at him. We went through class glancing at each other. He smiled every time he met my eyes. I don't know what was it with this guy. But after the class, I was getting ready to leave. I took Chris by the hand and began to walk away.
"Hey Janet! Wait up." I turned around to see Jay jogging to catch up. He had reached us and then smiled. "Um.. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime or something like that?" He seemed to look down a little nervous. I smiled at the sight. I wanted to say no. I mean I had barely met the guy. But something urged me to do otherwise.
"I would love to." I smiled at him and walked away with Chris. As I looked back I saw Jay pumping his fist into the air and jumping. Then running off back into the arena. Then I looked down at Chris. "Tell me more about your friend, Jay."
