Willco/Solangelo: A love story

XI- Zack

Will and Nico made their entrance and shocked the whole camp. After the shock, everyone returned to putting on their armor. Janet was over with this guy named Andrew. Ever since she came back from the volleyball game all she did was talk about Andrew. He was the son of Demeter. And Janet had taken a particular interest in him. He was 16, had blond hair, brown eyes, and was taller than Janet. He was wearing his chest plate over his camp clothes, carried a sword by the waist, and had a helmet in his hand. Janet was putting on her own armor. She was given a bow and arrow (she was in archery back in school) and was giggling like an idiot at everything funny that Andrew said. Chris was on the side playing around with some kids his age. Apparently you had to be 10 and over to play Capture the Flag but, Chris didn't mind. He seemed to be having fun with the other kids at camp. They ran off to the Big House to watch tv. Zack was having trouble with his armor. He glanced over at Lance talking with Jason, Piper, Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Will. Lance glanced over and smiled. Zack finally finished with his armor and went to the table with the weapons. He picked up a sword and it seemed too heavy. Then he picked up another and it seemed too light.

"You look like Goldilocks picking out a sword." He heard a laugh. He turned around and Lance was there right behind him. "You need some help?"

"Oh. Um. Yeah. I don't know which sword to pick. They're either too heavy or too light." Zack said as he turned around to look at the table. Lance stood next to him. They both inspected the table. Then Lance picked up sword at the edge of the table. It looked pretty simple but the sword was celestial bronze.

"Try this one." Lance handed it to Zack. For a moment their hands touched. Zack looked at Lance. They met eyes. Then quickly looked away taking the sword.

"It feels good. Not too heavy and not too light. It feels just right." Zack gave Lance a quick smile.

"Now that you have your sword Goldilocks, let's go and get ready to begin." Lance gestured to the crowd of campers getting ready to begin. Zack took put on his helmet and ran to catch up with Lance.

"Campers!" Chiron shouted over the noise. "The teams will now be divided." He spoke a different dialect and suddenly their helmets bean to change colors. Some of the people had blue helmets and others had red. "The battle will begin it 5 minutes!" Everyone split up.

"Yo Goldilocks!" Lance called. He was walking along with Jason, Percy, and Will. All four had red helmets. "You got a red helmet. Follow us." I walked over to them. I glanced back to see Piper, Annabeth, Nico, Leah, Andrew, and Janet walking the other direction. They were wearing blue helmets. Janet waved and smiled, I did the same.

"Hey guys." I said as I reached Lance.

"Sup'" Jason said. "So, son of Morpheus huh? Isn't he the god of nightmares?"

"No. That's his brother, Phobetor. Morpheus is the god of dreams." Zack responded.

"You know Greek Mythology?" Percy asked.

"Yep. I studied it as a hobby since I was in 6th grade." Zack replied.

" I take it that you don't know how to play? Do you?" Will asked. Zack shook his head. "Okay. So we're going to go get the flag from the other team. I hope you know how to use that sword, because we're gonna be fighting a lot of campers as we try to get that flag." Then the horn blew and all four began to run.

"Come on Goldilocks! You'll get left behind." Lance called back. Zack ran after them. Everything seemed to be going well, only one or two campers from the opposing side had they run into. The our of nowhere an arrow flew in front of Jason landing on a tree. They all stopped.

"Janet." Zack said. He turned at the direction that the arrow had come from and sure enough Janet was there already prepared to launch the second arrow. "That girl has the best aim in all of Chicago. I knew it was her."

"Hello guys! Sorry for almost taking your head off but some people wanted to say 'hi'" Yelled Janet and from behind her Piper, Annabeth, Nico, Leah, and Andrew along with 15 other campers ran to us. Will began to attack Leah along with 5 other campers. Pecry along with Jason fought 8 other campers along with Annabeth. Lance took on Andrew, Piper, and 2 other camper. Nico came to me.

"For the love of Zeus. I get Nico?" I said as Nico attacked.
