roofed forest

My eyes started adjusting to the darkness, but only as the figures staggered closer towards me could I make out what they were.

Skeletons with bones that held no flesh nor clothing, equipped with damaged bows and arrows that looked to have stood the test of time, though just barely.

Spiders the size of children, possessing long thick legs that never seemed to stay still, with red eyes that pierced the darkness.

And zombies, rotten green flesh and torn blue attire, whose groans echoed through the forest, sending shivers down my spine.

I have to get out of here!

But that was easier said than done, because just as I turned on my heel, an arrow came zooming past me, missing me by only an inch and wedging itself inside the bark of a dark oak tree.

(I wish I knew why this got so dark)

(I wish I knew why this got so dark)

I decided to attempt to dodge and weave through the trees and arrows until I'd reach daylight, after all, there would be plenty more mobs in a dark roofed forest like this.

And after running through and missing all of the arrows that had been shot at me, my luck finally ran out.

I had just dodged the lunge of an aggressive spider, only to be impaled by an arrow in my leg. The pain was worse than anything I'd ever felt before, and I let myself scream out in pain, alerting all the mobs nearby, if they weren't already trying to slaughter me.

But then I saw it in the distance, sunlight, bright green grass and a lake. If I could make it there, I might not die, I had no idea what would happen if I did die, but I wasn't prepared to find out.

So, I briskly limped to my only shot of safety, my only shot of surviving and figuring out why I'm here. Each step would've probably proven to be extremely painful if not for the adrenaline coursing through my veins.

The skeletons continued firing their arrows, with no sympathy or hesitation, the zombies moaning and groaning grotesquely, melee attacks consisting of bites and grabs thankfully too far away to get me, and the spiders lunging towards me and making those terrible hissing noises, if I was able to go to sleep without a bed, I knew I still wouldn't be able.

And just as I thought it couldn't get worse, I heard a familiar hiss.

I snapped my head around to be greeted with a monster the colour of crunchy green leaves, and with four short stubby legs.

That also happened to be flashing with light and hissing like a stick of dynamite...
