Once upon a time, there was a race different from ours that lived among side us for many years. But at first we feared them and tried to destroy them. You see they did look like us in a way, but they weren't us and we didn't like that. They all had violet eyes and were pale as the moon with hair as white as snow. Like a vampire perhaps. But they weren't vampires because they were alive and breathing, but they did have special powers.
Each of one them had powers, some more powerful than others of course. And they also had supernatural heightened senses. Sometimes they were simple like having mind control or being able to read minds. But other times they could cause explosions with flick of their finger, or they could control the elements all around them and cause mass destruction. Each and every one of them had powers which at first scared us.
But they promised peace and after years of back and forth, we made a peace treaty. The treaty was simple. No using powers to hurt or disturb the humans or else they'd be tried in court like us. We tried to make as equal as possible, and for a while it worked. Although there were the occasional bad apples who wanted change. Some were humans and some were the specials. Each one would try and cause violence towards each other, but then they were those who believed in peace.
They lived around us with rules to keep us and them safe, such as they all had have a tattoo as soon as they were old enough to let us know who they were. A stamp with numbers to help us keep track of them. They had curfews and were not allowed to use their powers in a public place. We had to be safe and keep ourselves safe because we would never fully trust them.
The king of the tribe, he believed in peace and keeping his people safe so he followed our rules. But there were others who wanted more. Like his brother for instance. He wanted the specials to take over and fight for more. But the king said no. He wanted no part in a rebellion and forbid anyone else too. His tribe agreed and they all followed his rule.
The king already had son, who was almost as powerful as him. The king could control what you felt and what you could see as if you were there. He could make you weep with emotion at the beach or have you laugh while burning alive. But he never used his powers for evil and usually tried to do good for his people. Donte, the young prince, had the ability to teleport and pop up in anyplace he wanted. The king could never see him coming, and he always hated it when Donte could sneak up on him without warning.
We all lived together in peace for years, but then without warning the princess was born. She was expected yes but we never expected what she'd become. You see, we hated specials children. They were wild and unpredictable but most were harmless because they had no sort of powers yet. Some were capable of using their powers earlier than we were used to and we had to ask their parents to keep them away while they were learning to control their impulses. Not that they all agreed but because of the treaty they complied.
Until her. She was different from the moment she was born. We knew it. We didn't have powers, but we could feel it. She was the reason we grew to fear them more than we had before. You see, we had no idea what she was capable of. At first.
First she killed her mother at birth. Which you have to understand how hard the specials are to kill. They never get sick and they never die, especially during childbirth. In fact at first we thought they were indestructible but we soon learned they could be killed but only when they were weak and they had to be stabbed through the heart or else they could heal right away. So when the queen died everything changed, and we weren't the only ones scared.
The specials tried to understand her, why she had caused her mother to die. All they knew was that she was powerful, more powerful than the king himself and that was saying something. Her first few days alive she caused hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunami's in places in the world where none of those things were supposed happen. Her power was undefined like she had not one but many at once and we were terrified. We feared her.
There was nothing she couldn't do as her power seemed limitless. At the age of three she could read minds, teleport, shapeshift, manipulate minds, and control every element. There was more she could do and everyday she did something new. We suspected omnipotence, the ability to have unlimited power and knowledge. We were terrified that she was going to destroy us, and so we came up with a plan.
At first we planned to kill her, but because she wasn't like all of them we had no idea how. She wouldn't be killed as simple as the rest of the specials. So to keep us safe we'd study her until we knew how to kill her. And there was one person who hated the specials more than life, and that person was Jane Hill. She had a son herself but we never understood why as she sneered at the mention of him. But nevertheless she planned to help us. We knew that taking her away was going to cause the specials to attack so we had to prepare.
So we took her, causing a war in the process which we won by a landslide, and in our efforts the king was killed. After that the treaty was over, and we determined to wipe them out. We placed her inside a pod and stripped her of her memories, as the specials went into hiding. They tried to fight us at first but our technology was advancing at a fast rate. We had ways to teleport with human shaped pods, to put chips inside our people to try and get them to depend on us without lifting a finger.
We knew how to kill the specials with just a single shot of our laser guns but not her. She couldn't be killed, even as we injected her with everything known to kill. Poisons, cancer, lulling her to sleep and trying to stab her. But she wouldn't die but as long as she had no idea who she was, we were safe.
As long as she never knew, we were safe.

I know this chapter was short, but I made it short on purpose. It's the story behind why they did what they did and I think it's interesting to know why or what she came from.
Any idea what's going to happen next? Comment if you have ideas, I'd love to hear it.
