Rex

Rex had no idea what was going on but for some Reason Zen and Donte were in Donte's room with the door locked. He was pretty sure it was about what Donte had talked to him last week. And they had been in their for a while. Rex wanted to lean in close to the door and listen, but he was pretty sure they'd sense him. So instead of waiting he decided to leave the house and go see some of the villagers.

But as he was walking Rex could sense something was wrong. There was a twisting in his gut. And as he walked closer to the middle of where all the specials resided, Rex suddenly started hearing high pitched screaming. He started running toward where he heard it from.

But as he reached the scream it turned out to be nothing but Kora, a five year old little girl with her doll ripped in half. Rex breathed a sigh of relief and got on his knees to talk to her.

If Rex ever had any kids he would want a daughter like Kora. She was such a sweet little girl and smarter than any other kid her age. Kora was the one who showed him the trees that he brought Zen to. And everyday she'd follow him around to ask about the outside world.

"They hurt Gia...they hurt..." Kora was sobbing so hard she could barely talk. Rex's heart clenched at the sight of her messy, teary eyed face and he felt angry at whoever made her cry like this. He would make them pay.

"Who Kora? Who did this?" He soothingly patted her back and she did a little hiccup before answering.

"They didn't look like me. But like you." Kora started sobbing again. "And they were....so...mean." She cried and leaned on Rex's shoulder leaving a wet patch. He ignored the wetness on his shoulder and soothed her until she calmed down. But inside he was freaking out. People had found them and they were nowhere near ready for the war.

Rex knew he had to find Kane and tell him, even though he hated f*cking Kane. He was the leader of the specials warriors and could send an attack if needed.

"Hello." He heard a feminine voice call from a feet away. It was Kora's sister. Topa, one the most angelic girls in the village. And if Zen wasn't beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on, Rex would have already tried to move a Topa. But unlike Zen she didn't have those big doe eyes or those waterfall curls that reached her waist. Topa however did have the kindest smile and longest legs he had ever seen. "Kora? Where are you?"

Kora peeked up from Rex's shoulder. "I'm here Topa." She called softly. Topa came and instantly started asking Kora everything that happened.

"I've got to go find Kane." Rex told them and Topa nodded in agreement.

"Yes go find him so we can make this right." Topa smiled at Rex and he gave her a smile back but his heart wasn't in it. He didn't want to lead her on because Rex only wanted Zen.

As he walked off to find Kane, he noticed dark shadows along the cave walls and considering it was daytime that didn't normally happen. Rex could feel his palms start to sweat and his heart was beating out of his chest. Someone was following him.

He started to walk faster to where Kane's bunker was but whoever was following him was persistent. He could hear the footsteps of someone behind him and with every step he could feel the panic start to set in. And then as Rex saw the bunker in the distance, suddenly there were people surrounding him.

The people he could see all around him were Jane's guards, and they were dressed head to toe in black. Like they were trying to blend in and sneak into the cave, which they had done so far. The more they circled in on him, the more he moved back until he stumbled and fell on his butt. Rex honestly had no idea if Jane had told them to kill him or not. She probably gave the order to kill him on the spot.
