cooper stood back in surprise, his eyes somewhat wide. "i wasn't sure if you remembered." his head was clouded with thoughts, but he could only keep his focus on travis.
"ted texted me early this morning," the brown haired boy made a simple gesture to his phone. "he asked if i was okay. he told me- he said he saw me clunk out when he was with carson and schlatt." the blonde's head immediately went fuzzy and he could feel his knees go weak. they saw? he asked himself as he felt travis grab his hand, suddenly knocking him into reality. "cooper!" he yelped, "are you okay?"
he didn't respond, only staying breathless for a moment. "i-" he paused to breathe. "i-i'm sorry. i didn't want anyone to see." he muttered as travis dragged him over to the bed. cooper placed a hand on his own cheek, changing the subject. "did you ever talk to your mom about how the night went?" he asked, looking at travis.
the brunette nodded, a tiny smile appeared on his face. "yeah," he said, "i texted her about how the night went." he paused, grabbing onto his phone. "i made sure not to mention the weed or the drinking." he looked back to cooper, his smile was bigger. "i said i made it to your place safely after i "fell asleep" in the uber." they sat there for a moment in silence before travis caught himself staring at the boys silver-blue eyes. "sorry." he mumbled, looking away from cooper.
cooper blinked, "it's alright, trav." the name rolled so softly off of his tongue, it was almost natural to him. his cheeks were warm, his palms were a tiny bit sweaty, but he liked the feeling. he liked the feeling of butterflies dancing in his stomach whenever he looked at travis, or whenever travis talked.
the boys phone buzzed and travis looked at the screen. the face ID unlocked and he looked at the message, frowning. "my mom wants me to come home soon," he said, exhaling, there was a certain sadness in travis' voice that made cooper hurt. he grabbed his hoodie that was draped over the end of the bed, looking at cooper before murmuring a sad goodbye.
cooper could see the hurt in travis' eyes. he really just didn't want to go home- huh? the blonde quickly stood on his feet and gently took travis by his arm. for a second or two, he was quiet, and travis was confused. "h-how about we go on a date, yeah?" he asked in a flustered panic. "the park- the one right by school, the one with the hiking trail." it seemed like he had everything so planned out, but it was really just an on the spot decision. "tomorrow is okay, right?"

"the sun is shinin' in the sky, there aint a cloud in sight."
cooper stood in front of the mirror again, same position as the day before. he had a towel around his waist. he looked from his left to his right hand, then exhaled. he turned around and put a grey crew-neck sweater and tan-ish cargo pants.
"it stopped raining, everybody's in the play. and if you don't know, its a beautiful new day, hey."
he set his phone down on his desk as he lurked around his bedroom one last time. he grabbed his shoes from the shoe rack in his closet, they were just black and white slip-on vans that matched his outfit. he turned around to his door, grabbing his skateboard that had been leaning against the wall. oh yeah. before going downstairs he grabbed his phone.
the blonde headed out the door, waving goodbye to his parents and his sister. closing the door behind him, he set down his board, quickly stopping it from bouncing with his foot.
"running down the avenue. see how the sun shines brightly."
began to skate against the road, the sidewalk was a bit too distracting for him. cooper breathed softly as he felt the wind on his face, a smile on his face. the wind on his teeth, the wind that rippled softly through his clothes. he brought his foot down to push off the pavement again, feeling his foot touch the ground harshly before kicking off.
