the week had flown by so fast. cooper and travis were by each others side nearly every hour of the day, up until the party. today was the day, the party.
travis had never been so excited, thanks to cooper reassuring the boy about how the party would go and how many people were there. he felt his stomach tingle whenever he was near the blonde, his cheeks would go red and he would grow warm. he didn't really understand it, but he didn't bother to anyway, cause cooper made him happy.
travis was in his last period for the day, the talking of the teacher was drowned out while he thought of what he could do at the party and who he could meet. there would be so many people. on his notebook, he scribbled softly, doodles of his friends or animals he liked. his head shot into the air as he watched everybody start to pack up simultaneously, putting their chairs up on the tables and talking to each other.
he shared the period with charlie and ted. the two of them approached him after he, himself, had finished up packing. "oh, hey guys!" travis chimed, grinning. looking up to the guys he waited for one of them to talk.
"are you excited?" charlie asked first. "the party- i mean." he laughed and looked over to ted, he was on his phone, presumably texting his mom or somebody else. "we never are able to get everybody together, and now we have a new person in our group-" charlie began to ramble.
travis nodded, "yeah!" he said, the grin on his face grew wider. "i've never really been to a party, i didn't have many friends at my old school." he frowned. "but! i'm still excited to meet new people."
the bell rang and travis looked to the door, "i gotta go! i'll see you guys at the party." travis said, winking at them. he waved goodbye to the both of them and headed out the door and to the bus stop.
when he got dropped off at his spot, he said the same words to carson and schlatt, then texted cooper about the address. the boy responded very fast with joko's address. it was only a ten minute walk, not super far.
travis got ready for the rest of the day, he stepped down the stairs and texted his mom, saying that he would be leaving. he smiled and headed out the door. the boy walked down the street, it was already getting somewhat dark outside, but he watched as the sky turned blue, then pink, then to a dark, dark purple.

the blonde was already at the party, sitting around the table with joko and a few of joko's friends. "dude i'm telling you, this kid is crazy." he said, laughing. "he's not weird, but he's got such a good vibe." cooper smiled, and continued to talk about the boy. "he gets so riled up with our friend group its literally wild."
"you talk about this guy a lot," joko commented, raising a brow. he leaned over the table and looked at cooper dead in the eye. "do you like him?"
cooper's face grew red, laughing nervously. "no." he said, but there was hesitation in his voice. did he like travis? "i'm not gay, you know that." he took a sip from his drink, looking at the door to see if the boy was there yet. "you guys will like him too." he muttered, looking back to them.
the other boys nodded their heads and laughed at cooper, his cheeks were dusted with such a soft pink, it was barely noticeable. the blonde stood up and exhaled. "i'm gonna sit outside and wait for him," he said, grabbing his cup.
once he stepped outside he closed the door behind him and sat on the staircase, drink in hand. he watched as it swirled around in his palms, liquid was such a cool substance. he looked up to the sky, it was getting dark, but he didn't think of it. travis was still coming— right?
he heard footsteps and raised his head immediately, excitement bubbled in his stomach. the boy immediately smiled, standing up.
"coopie!" travis said with a huge grin painted across his cheeks, jogging up to the slightly older boy. "this is gonna be so fun," he said.
cooper took a sip of his drink, staying quiet for a few seconds. "i'm glad you came," he said, scratching the back of his head. "i was scared that you weren't gonna show up." he laughed nervously, his cheeks growing red.
travis could feel his face warming up, bringing a hand to his cheek to distract from being flustered. his hands were sweaty. "of course i would've come—" he paused. "i've never been to a party before."
coopers eyes widened, raising an eyebrow. "really?" he asked, tipping his head slightly to the side. "well then, i hope that this will be the best one you ever go to."
