carson let out a quiet laugh, his glasses shown in the bright sun. it was almost hard to see his eyes. he breathed and stayed quiet as cooper yelled at him, he barely moved an inch. he adjusted his glasses and had a devious grin on his face. "oh coopie calm down."

"don't fucking call me that!" cooper snapped, clenching his fist. he brought his hands to carsons chest and pushed him down onto the ground. he was so incredibly infuriated he didn't know what to do.

when carson hit the grass he started to laugh. "cooper calm down." he said again, sitting up in his spot. he didn't pay attention to how angry the other blonde was, instead, he looked to travis, who was looking away, his hands in his pockets and his eyes closed.

he relaxed his muscles and inhaled, closing his eyes for a second. he turned his head to see travis who was looking away from the two of them. carson was still on the ground as he continued to talk about stuff that would surely get cooper riled up.

"you know i wouldn't tell anyone about you two." he said, laughing. "being gay is like whatever now, right?" he shrugged. "so who would care if you guys were gay or not?"

cooper placed a hand on travis' shoulder and looked back to carson. the other blonde was still on the ground. "dude can you just fuck off?" he asked. "take a hint." he turned his head back to travis, the boy wasn't looking at him and he could feel his stomach twist in guilt.

"people will find out at some point." carson laughed, getting up. he wiped grass clippings off of his pants and shirt. he adjusted his glasses. he shrugged, "so don't be surprised if more people find out." he turned around to leave before looking back at them for a second. "i'll see you guys at lunch, my teacher's probably wondering why i've been in the bathroom for so long." carson waved, then walked away.

the blonde turned his attention back to travis. "are you okay?"

he stayed quiet, and cooper could feel a shiver run through his body. he struggled to form his words, he had never seen cooper that angry before. travis shook his head, "no." he grabbed coopers hand, looking at him now. "i've never seen you that mad." he could feel a lump in his throat.

cooper squeezed onto the boys hand. "i-i'll never yell at you." he said, clasping it with his free hand. "i promise." he muttered softly, pulling travis into a hug. he had to look for his words. "i don't know what came over me."

travis was hesitant to return the hug, but once he did he could feel himself be a lot calmer. as the two pulled apart, he still had cooper's hand. he looked at him and placed his free hand on cooper's chest. "why don't you want them to know?" he asked. he sounded so hurt.

the taller boy exhaled shakily and looked around the courtyard. "i-i'm scared." he admitted. "i've never been in a relationship before. i've never felt this way before." he began to ramble. "i don't know how my mom and dad would react to me having a boyfriend. i don't know how my friends would react." his eyes lowered to the floor. "i'm sorry."

travis tightened his grip on cooper's hand, a worried expression on his face. "it's okay coopie." he murmured. "i understand." he brought a hand up to the slightly taller boys cheek, cooper rested his face in travis' hand. "but we can't avoid it for forever, right?" he asked, his head tipped lightly to the side. "carson said that people would figure out eventually."

after the two of them had gotten home, cooper picked up travis almost immediately, the two of them went to his house, said hi to his mom, then straight to coopers room.

as soon as the two entered the room, the blonde burst into tears and cried into travis' shirt. travis brought him to his bed and they sat there for a while. cooper had his head on travis' chest and the brunette was playing with his shaggy hair. it was soft. cooper kept sobbing into his shirt, unable to form proper sentences. it took a few minutes of the incoherent sobbing and choking on spit to stop before cooper could finally talk. the two of them were sprawled out on cooper's bed, legs tangled. cooper's hair was a mess, his cheeks were puffy and his eyes were red.

he opened his mouth but nothing came out. he shut his eyes tightly breathing as travis played with his hair. he had him in a warm grasp, his left arm around him as cooper rested his head on his chest. "i-i wanted to come out to them," he choked. "i was right about to send the message to the group chat and i froze up." he sniffled. "i really thought i had it. i really did." he looked to travis, his eyes shiny with tears. "travis i can't do this anymore."

travis' eyes widened, his words came out rushed. "w-what do you mean?"

"i don't want to hide it." he said, shakily exhaling. he wiped the tears from his eyes and looked away from travis. "i want to tell them but i don't know how." the two of them came to an abrupt silence as cooper calmed himself down. he had now sit up, the two of them still in his bed. he looked to his phone as he thought. he sniffled. he had an idea but it was probably stupid. he breathed carefully, looking over to travis. "i'm going to text the group chat." he mumbled quietly. "i'm going to tell them." he glanced at his phone, then back to the other boy. "thats alright with you, right?"

the curly haired boy nodded. "y-yeah." he sputtered. "that's fine."

cooper turned his attention back to his phone and opened the group chat. he carefully texted the words out, careful not to misspell anything. all he had said was i'm gay. and immediately after he mentioned something about being in a relationship with travis.

he heard travis' phone buzz from the notification, then soon after, multiple more came in. cooper let out a shaky sigh, he didn't want to look at his phone. all he did was lay his head back down onto travis' chest, closing his eyes.
