Ember's POV
As I walked home, thinking about Thayne, I saw a boy.
He looked kinda out of place and was wearing a lot of blue. His hair was even blue!
I tried to ignore him, but he waved in my direction. I just knew I looked as confused as i felt as i made my way over to him.
"Uh, hi..." He said. "Hi, uh, I'm Ember, you are?" I said as Slush licked his hand. He gently ran his hand over Slush's head and answered with "Erm, I'm Blueo"
"Where are you from?"
"Uh, you probably wouldn't understand"
I looked at him. What the heck? Did he think I was stupid? "Well, that's kinda offensive"
"No no! It's just that, it involves time travel, timelines and universe stuff humans don't understand yet! I'm not trying to hurt your feelings..."
I was still curious, that sounded interesting, but I decided to drop it for now. "Okay, uh, is there anything you maybe would want to do, or...?"
"I actually dunno what there is to do to be honest"
"Oh, so, you're new here?"
"Yeah"
"I could give you a tour if you want!" I offered, then wanted to take that back. What had gotten into me? Thankfully, Blueo didn't seem to mind.
"Sure! I mean, if you want to"
"Well, I don't see any way out of it," i joked, "Lets go!" I said and we walked around. I gave a tour of the whole town, stopping at the church.
"And this is the Godly Grace church. I've never been, because my mom hates God and everything to do with him, but I am interested. I do think it would be fun to go, but I don't want to disobey or anger mom, so... Anyway, that's the end of the tour!"
Blueo looked at the church, then turned to me. "Thanks" he said, and I dunno why but I felt like he hated me and started to freak out.
"What? Do you hate me? Oh God you hate me now..." I said, though I don't know why I care if he does.
"What? No, I don't hate you. Why would I?"
"Are you sure?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yeah, I'm sure I don't hate you"
Yeah, I was pathetic. Of course he didn't hate me, and even if he did, I don't know why I would care.
"Well, um... So, where are you staying?" I asked. I felt so awkward. But, I didn't really regret going up to him, he seemed really nice.
"Good question" he said, and I was gonna do something really awkward again.
"Well you can stay at my house!" I said, then immediately put my hands over my mouth.
"Erm, really?"
"Yeah- well, I'd have to ask my mom, but she should say yes..."
"Oh, well, thanks"
"Um, no problem... Let's go ask her now"
"Okay!"
Blueo's POV
Ember had just offered me a place to stay. In all my years of time travel, no one had offered me somewhere to stay. Well, once, but that was in a house with annoying cats.
Those cats had been people, but then a virus went around that turned them into cats.
Rosalina and Story were the main cats there. Story mostly.
She was really mean at first, then something changed and she started to be nice. But, she had called five assassin's on me and we fled the house. Then she felt guilty.
She wanted to live in a haunted house by herself, but I managed to convince her to live in a normal house with me and the rest of the cats. Well, me and Rosalina.
Then she punished herself.
That was a weird timeline. I was teleported out of the timeline right after we saw a clown in the window. No matter how I tried to go back, I couldn't. I hoped Story was okay...
Ember and I reached the Steak and shake. We went inside and I saw someone who looked like a older version of Ember behind the counter.
"Hey, uh, mom! This is Blueo, and he doesn't have anywhere to stay, could he take the guest room?"
The older woman narrowed her eyes on me and I started to feel nervous. She laughed.
"Of course he can! Sorry Blueo, didn't mean to make you sweat!"
I nodded. "It's fine, thank you Mrs.?"
"Mrs. Kansas, no problem! Now Ember, run along. I'll be home soon"
"Okay mom! Thanks!" Ember said, quickly running to the door and holding it open for me.
"Thanks" I said and she nodded.
"Bet I beat you home!" She called out, then started running.
I laughed and ran after her. I could beat her if I wanted, I did have speed ability, along with teleportation, invisibility and shape shifting, but I'd let her win.
Besides, if I beat her home it would be weird cuz I shouldn't know where her house is. But my mind was like a GPS.
She reached home before me and unlocked the door.
"Okay, come on!" She said, leading me to the guest bedroom.
It was a light blue color and the bed was made. There was a dresser and hangers in the closet. The drapes were aqua in color and windows clean. It was better then any room I'd ever been in before.
"So, there's some extra blankets, sheets and pillow cases in the closet, and um... Oh, there's a diary too. No tv though because mom has this stupid rule of "No tv's in the bedroom". But I'm allowed to have my phone in the bedroom, so I don't know. Mom's just confusing. Anyway, do you like it?"
I nodded. "Yeah! It's great!"
"Yay! I'm glad! So, mom will probably be home within a hour, do you want to play Minecraft?"
"I, uh... Sure!" I said, I didn't know what Minecraft was but I was sure I'd learn.
We played Minecraft, which apparently was a video game, and built a small dirt and wood house.
We spawned in a swamp and Ember gave me a light blue bed. She didn't have a bed though, so I tried to give it back. When I did she hit me with a wooden sword.
I just laughed.
She helped me get gear and helped me learn how to craft.
After awhile Mrs. Kansas got home with dinner. Ember said she already ate and continued playing, but I got up and ate.
I was hungry. Well, I was always hungry.
About halfway through the meal we heard someone scream and Ember hopped up and dropped her remote, running out the door, only slipping on her shoes. She seemed anxious, like something was wrong and she had to go help.
I started to get up, but I was teleported out of the timeline.
I looked around and didn't see anything but black.
Sighing, I sat down to await my next job.
